Which sounds and looks more useful so far, Incendiary or Cryo ammo?

Trying to figure out my build for my Vanguard

Was going to max out pull, shockwave, charge and then randomly choose one of the ammo types

I guess it just depends on what the bonus power(s) are

I like to make ice sculptures, but setting people on fire seems better overall. I have a feeling Cryo won't work on boss fights / Thresher Maws but Incendiary will.

Synthetics are probably going to be immune to incendiary ammo, keep that in mind.

What are the benefits of cry rounds? Incendiary rounds are good against armor, but what do cryo rounds do?

Figured it was not so much immunity as they would not mind being set of fire per se, may be wrong though.

With incendiary ammo, however, you can even out the weaknesses inherent to your shotgun with regards to defenses, creating a weapon with good damage versus shields, barriers, and armour.

Robots can catch on fire, but it only makes flaming Robots.

Freeze enemies. From what I've seen in vids, you can shatter the enemies when frozen, too.

I'm very excited for incendiary rounds for my Vanguard. Fire is awesome.

I'm digging the cryo rounds, it appears to slow enemy movements and eventually freezes them. Plus if I remember correctly didn't the highest level of cryo ammo bypass shields in ME1. I hope they kept that for ME2.

Snap freezing, say, a Krogan, then charging into him and shattering him into a million bits sounds really fun, even if Incendiary will be probably more useful.

They both have their advantages.

Cryo Ammo not only has a chance to freeze and therefore immobilize enemies, but being frozen also causes the victim to become more susceptible to damage. Also, weaker enemies that are frozen can be shattered by extreme physical impacts. (I.e. being Pushed or Charged into walls and crates).

Incendiary Ammo has the benefit of an immediate damage boost, however. It chews through armor, and can light enemies on fire. The best part about ME2's burning damage, though, is that it will scale with the attack power of the weapon you're using, unlike the static values for damage over time in ME1. Upgrading the damage output of your weapons directly affects the damage of Incendiary Ammo.

Personally, I plan to get a level or two of Cryo and max out Incendiary for my Soldier and Vanguard.

Depends on the weapon and situation. I'd put cryo on a shotgun, so if something pops up right in my face I can quickfreeze it. Incendiary would be better on an assault rifle, for wearing down heavily armored targets at a distance.

Disruptor would go on a sniper rifle, since shields/barriers are the only thing getting in their way and it'll be fun to snipe the limbs off of robots.

I would imagine that it would depend on if you have to put points into one to unlock the other. Having to waste those few points to unlock the ammo you want would anger me, so I hope that isn't the case.

Cryo sounds more useful for a class that favors crowd control. It's essentially ME2's equivalent of a stun or paralysis spell.

Plus it looks cool.

Setting things on fire was so 1999 - January 25th 2010.

Incendiary can be evolved to Inferno which causes AoE damage. I think that that combined with shotgun will be extremely effective at both crowd control (since your enemys my go into panic mode) and just straight up killing them.

I doubt it. The incendiary/inferno ammo mods in ME 1 were described as being made of a burning material that's so hot it burns through nearly any substance. The geth were affected by this ammo in ME1, so I see no reason why they wouldn't be affected by it in ME2. I highly doubt they'd weaken the incendiary ammo.

Disruptor Ammo sounds better .... bye-bye shields.
