Well, in advance of finishing my solo runthrough i would like to ask you something different.
I was thinking about doing a runthrough with a 3 or 4 man/woman party. But with NPC's for the extra interaction.
Iwant to do something without the normal choices. I know that an evil party would be best... Korgan Edwin Viconia.
But I want to do a neutral or good party.
I also want to use other equipment than I usually do. Never had an archer or a real thief or stuff like that.
I dont mind using SK to mod some classes of the NPC's.
I want to make it a doable and fun experience.
Do you have some advice for NPC's and maybe some adjustments for them. I leave all options open except for Korgan or Edwin. Even my PC can be anything.
I know I need the following:
Divine Caster
Arcane Caster
Thief
Powerhouse Melee Fighter
Probably need to Multi or Dual class to get the most out of it.
But I would really like someone with a bow in my next runthrough.
The Weapons I would like to use are : Axes, Maces, Bow's, Staffs, Scimitar/Katana's, Clubs.
New Runthrough with NPC Party of 3 or 4

Maybe the following?
PC: Swashbuckler or Assasin
Keldorn or Mazzy
Aerie
Valigar > Making him an Archer
Would this make any sense? This would make the start very difficult i would think.
Or i could make Minsc an Archer or Beserker..
I find it really difficult to make a choice. Maybe I should drop my idea of an archer....
Maybe the following:
PC Fighter/Thief dont know which weapons?
Jaheira Staff or Scimitar Dualwielding
Aerie Shield and Hammers?
Maybe add Viconia or Mazzy?

Would this work?
PC fighter/thief dual wielding katana/scimitar
Jaheira club+shield or staffs and Spears
Aerie shield and sling
Viconia shield and hammers or dual wieldin hammers and maces
Would this be a possible run?
PS i again ran into a lot of bugs. Im planning to reinstall.
What would be my order of install?

Pretty much any party can work, so go with what you like. If you find you're light on arcane magic compared to divine you could always add in Edwin as well.
I find the following site useful - mods are listed in installation order.

Thank you for your advice. I replaced Aerie with Edwin. Somehow Aerie died very often in comparison with Edwin.
I also had a bug with the Aerie romance where my main character and Aerie didnt move but look at eachother when I was outside. No problems inside buildings.

After doing some more quests im getting a little bored with this party... Dont know exactly why.
So i think im going to start all over and doing a full party with only single classes I havent played a full game with before. I want to keep the NPC's for the extra quests and interactions. I was thinking of changing some NPC's with Level 1 NPC (never done it before).
I was thinking of the following group (not yet set in stone)
PC Monk (never played monk before)
Cernd (Dont know if I should change his Duid Kit, I really have 0 experience with the druid kit)
Kelsey or Tashia (never installed an extra NPC before, plus I get a sorceror, i dont need my PC te be one)
Archer (probably Valygar)
Swashbuckler (dont know which NPC to change into)
Viconia (I do need a Cleric, or do I?) Or replace her with a Korgan as Barbarian?
Do I have enough to pack a punch melee wise? And any ideas on Cernd and the Swashbuckler?

I already got it for 90%:
PC Human Monk ==> Fists
Kelsey the Sorceror ==> Sling, Staff, Dart
Cernd (Still thinking which Kit) Staff or Scimitar and Schield
Valygar (Archer Kit) ==> Short and Long Bow (maybe crossbow)
Nalia (Swashbuckler kit) ==> Katana and short and long swords
Minsc or Korgan (Barbarian) ==> Axes dual Wield

Cernd: Since there are so many good staffs, someone in the party in addition to Kelsey, should be using them.
Minsc and Korgan: going with axes favors using Korgan, since Minsc's rage is so uncontrollable.

Thank you for your answer. I started just as i wrote above. It seems quite a fun and strong party.
I have assembled all members without doing any quests in that area. The only quests I did sofar are the Circustent and the book of Kazaa. I am now on the 1th floor of D'Arnise Keep. I haven't bought anything special yet.
The Monk is a very unusual class, I really like the animation of the character when fighting! I'm fighting with his fist. I dont know if they are strong enough but I really like it.
Kelsey i'm still getting used to. I dont really like the first spells selected and I kinda miss Identify.
Cernd (I choose Avenger kit for him) can hold his own quite well in fights thisfar. Probably thanks to his Ironskins. I have him running around with his staff. Havent done any shapeshifting yet.
Valygar (Archer) is quite powerful as he hits a lot and interrupts a lot of spellcasters
Nalia still a bit soft. When she gets hit she suffers quite a blow. This will only improve in time with the swashbucklers improvement per level.
Korgan as a barbarian. I love it. His AC is not really good (still having his basic equipment) but packs a real punch.
So far i'm loving it! I think it only will get better when the levels grow. I still have to research the classes what they can do and which equipment will work for them.

I have one question. I just realized that none of my characters can wear metal armor. Is this gonna be a problem when dividing the leather armors among eachother (too little available to give everyone good armor???)

That shouldn't be a problem.
- Monk and sorcerer don't use armour.
- As you say Cernd has ironskins and will fight better in wolf shape anyway.
- Barbarians can use metal armour, just not plate.
- Valygar has his own armour which is pretty good.

Thank you for your fast help!
- Didnt know that the Wolf shape was that strong. Still getting used to the druid. I guess I have to try to find some extra info on that.
- After browser through all the armors in the game I should be able to provide my entire party with decent armor. I guess a lot can be gained by doing the Temple Ruins quests.
