Possible minor spoilers ahead

I bought the pre-order direct from EA, so I ended up with 3 rings, the Armor, and my book in my inventory when I started DAO last night.

However.  Being as I am playing a Dwarf Noble, all my items were taken away when I was put in jail before my exile.  I had hoped they would show back up once I arrived in Ostragar, but alas, I remain ringless.

Is there someway to retrieve items?  Or is this a bug?

I'm in the same boat, so I hope there is too.

If not it means my warrior will be without the Armour, whilst my armourless mage will have a set.

Most annoying!

Posted often (I wish the search worked on this site).

Fixed by saving game, disabling the missing DLC, force reload of game, resave in new slot, exit game, enable DLC, reload new save. Items reappear in inventory. Only one it didn't work for of my DLC was the Memory Ring. Don't disable the quest/plot/character DLC.

And since there is a spoiler, to the spoiler forum it must go.

Wow, thanks for the fix on that. It was the sole reason why I chose to play a Dwarf Commoner instead of a Dwarf Noble on my first playthrough ( I realized as soon as I got jailed all my special items vanished). Good to see there is a workaround, I'll have to try Dwarf noble then :)

Sadly, I couldn't find a way to get the memory band back for my character but disabling the dlc force loading a game saving it then re-enabling the dlc restored the other items.

maybe disabling it right at the beginning and then enabling it after you free yourself could help

Do just the DLC items get taken or EVERYTHING in your inventory? I started a noble dwarf and was wondering if i should even pick anything up in the chests, etc at all till later in the game if ur just gonna lose it all...?

You lose it all..I was a bit peeved at that since I had gone around and collected everything that I could. I'm really surprised that there is still no fix for this bug, as people have posted about it since day 1.
