Ok really just wondering two things about it, the article really isn't that clear. First off is the Hammerhead DLC free or not? And secondly is the hammerhead needed for anything at all included with the game or is it just used in specfic exploratory missions that will be available for download after release?

ITS FREE!

IGN: "Those who purchase the title new will receive exclusive access to the 'The Cerberus Network,' an in-game pipeline for downloadable content, as well as daily messages and news on upcoming releases for the game at no additional cost. Acess requires players to input a single-use unlock code that comes included with all new copies, retail and digital versions."

The only free DLC is the release date DLC. Other DLC you will have to pay for. So unless the hammerhead is coming out on day one of ME2, then its not free.

All the IGN release says is that the Cerberus network itself is free, which gives you NEWS about upcoming DLC, and a pipeline through which you'll download it.

It doesn't say anything about whether the DLC itself will cost.

We don't know either way, and its highly unlikely they will be making it apparent to us until their scheduled reveal date.

What is wrong with all you people quoting that? If you'd actually read that whole paragraph it says News on upcoming DLC is free, not the actual DLC.

Glad I'm not the only one noticing that.

Really I don't care if it's free or not, well as long as it's not to expensive. All I really wanna know is my second question. If it's needed for anything at all that comes in the game or just dlc.

I see a lot of assumptions in this thread, wait for real information to be released by Chris Priestly please.

An article was already released, it just wasn't really clear on those two things which is why I'm asking.

Hammerhead could be free for all we know it all depends on how much we will actually be able to do with it though it does sound sweet

What did i tell you guys, they are normally vague on purpose.  Stop jumping to conclusions one way or another. :pinched:

Probably Donning flame-protection. The article is both informative and suitably vague. Certain things though can be said with reasonable assurance. You will need Cerberus access in order to Download DLC for ME2. Daily messages and news on upcoming releases for the game will be free with access. Those who were wondering about the Hammerhead now have 'official' confirmation that it will be available (though as DLC).

Keep up the good work on feeding us with information.

They are being vague on purpose, but each site reporting this is saying a different thing. Free, not free, 1st day free, etc

No information is good unless its a official press release from Bioware.

Wait... so the new Mako replacement is now a DLC and not part of the game itself? Which means, it's not even vital to the core, vanilla game at all?

OOOO, OOO I see it!!. Let me answer. The part you want her to see is where it says ...downloadable content, as well as.... at no additional cost. Yea, she needs to read it more thouroughly.

I believe if the Hammerhead isn't free, then it will probably be free a year after release. But then in the meantime, when you land on a planet, what do you travel in?
