If its not free I'm not getting it. The Mako was far and away the worst part of Mass Effect. I don't want any variant of it unless they massively overhaul it.
The Hammerhead looks cool to me. Look behind Shepard
That is not the Hammerhead. We discussed this days ago. If you read the press release today, you would know that the Hammerhead is a hover tank.

That is clearly just a generic rover.

@Futureboy81, I don't totally understand all the hate either, sure sometimes it was infuriating but sometimes it was just plain fun to drive around in it and seeing what hills you could and couldn't get up and just how far you could get it to go off the edge of a cliff using the thrusters to keep you airborne as long as possible

Maybe that's the vehicle you get if you cannot afford to buy the Hammerhead with points.

If you cannot afford to buy the Hammerhead, there is no drivable vehicle. All the missions in the game at launch use the Kodiak drop ship, which you do not control.

Well that's stupid. If it's a big planet, how do you get around? Oh wait, you pick certain spots to land at. Nevermind.

Now there's a horrible thought, if you don't buy the Hammerhead you get stuck with the old Mako....
Sign me up, I need to get some BioWare points. I couldn't stand another game with the Mako!

Right. There was a polish video that went up on Monday that showed a neat example of a short N7 mission. The Kodiak drops you on a launch pad just outside the base, and you go straight in and do your thing.
I am sure there are some that are bigger, but that's basically how it will work.

Hey you would know right, you seem to be missing your Bioware tag though. You should have Chris fix that for you.

"BioWare, a division of EA, today revealed 'The Cerberus Network', an in-game portal in Mass Effect 2 that will keep fans engaged with the rich and dynamic Mass Effect universe through downloadable content (DLC) and news. 'The Cerberus Network' is activated exclusively by original purchasers of Mass Effect 2 through a single-use unlock code that comes included in retail and digital versions of the game worldwide. 'The Cerberus Network' is a conduit for players to receive bonus content as well as daily messages and news on upcoming releases for Mass Effect 2 for no extra charge. For players who do not buy the game new, 'The Cerberus Network' can be unlocked through a one-time, in-game purchase of a new activation code*."
The footnote just says that the code is tied to an EA account and isn't transferable. There is not tricky fine print. It clearly states that not only are "daily messages and news on upcoming releases" free, but so will bonus content be. While this might still mean that some future releases will not be free and that only some menial bonus content including the day one DLC will be, I am fairly convinced that both currently planned DLC releases (day one and the Hammerhead set) will fall under the umbrella of free Cerberus Network "bonus content". That the activation code for the network needs to be purchased after day one means strongly suggests this is the case. Either:
a) Bioware is so soulless as to make players pay for nothing more than the Download Manager and news feed for DLC beyond day one or
Option a is despicable, but unlikely. Option b is much more likely. While it is possible that yet-unannounced content will not be free in an unfortunate reversal of this early policy, I'm pretty sure the Hammerhead will be free.

Day 1 is a phrase. Its not a 24 hour sale that after Day 1 you are forced to buy the content. Its just like Shale in DAO where you have a code that comes in the case you enter it and its free and the code will have plenty of time just like DAO, you have 7 months to use the code on the cards. I dunno where people get these crazy ideas its only a 24 hour thing.

Wait. The reason it's not in the game is because they didn't have time to put it in. It has to be free because according to some website you need it to travel on hostile worlds. Your armor only protects you for a certain amount of time on these types of worlds. So it has to be free because you cannot finish all the sidequests without, or Bioware is going to make a quick buck on this DLC
Again, the sidequests already included in the game do not need the Hammerhead. The DLC will come with it's own sidequests, specifically designed for the vehicle.

I dunno. You and I both pay more attention to this stuff then a lot of these folks. So I guess FUD-busting becomes our rold somewhat.
That is like 3 threads where you and I posted back to back answering the same questions.

Yea I 'd have to agree. I got bored real quick on the first one because of visiting the same planets doing the same thing over and over.

The N7 missions seems very much focused on providing a small, tightly designed map with specific objectives rather then the crazy open spaces in ME1.
