Has anyone heard if this game is going to be compatible with the controller?

I found some topics for DA:O, but nothing for ME2.

Thanks in advance!

Why oh why would you want to?

I'm being forced to use an xbox to play ME2 as I haven't got a PC powerful enough to run the game up here and the controller is so restrictive compared to a keyboard.

I would want to use a controller - I despise keyboard and mouse for any game with shooter elements, it just feels so detached. Also, it is considerably more uncomfortable to use keyboard and mouse for an extended period of time, and I've done whole playthroughs of Mass Effect 1 in one sitting before now.

I played ME on both and, trust me, the Keyboard/mouse is WAY better. In fact, aside from sports games, I have moved away from consoles for gaming entirely. I only use the PS3 for Blu Ray.

I'm tired of people like you always answering these posts like this.

Some people like me hook up their computer to their TV via HDMI because games running on high performance PCs on huge screens are awesome.

Now you try playing shooters from the couch with your mouse an keyboard. Some people prefer controllers for one reason or another and we wouldn't ask this question if we were fine with just keyboard and mouse.

Full time educaton for the win! It was the summer break, I had time to kill in a big way B)

Edit: Oh, and I plan on doing the same for ME2 after my June exams, I'll have even more time to kill before Uni.

Controllers are by far better, because they were designed for games, where as with a mouse and keyboard, your working your way backwards.

Probably down to personal preference but I won't want to play this type of game with a controller. Mouse and k/b just feels more natural for me. Also with this being more a shooter/rpg hybrid reckon the higher accuracy of the mouse might be handy.

This isn't a post about which you prefer, the OP was just asking if there would be support for a controller. Why is everyone discussing which is better? Just answer the question.

To the OP: sorry mate it doesn't support the controller by default you have to use a mapping program like XPadder. I use it all the time, it's decent. For some games it works well for others the controls end up being a bit weird. You can always try it out, you can find it free on softpedia.com

That's true to a certain extent, but certain games lend themselves to the mouse accuracy and speed, mainly FPS type games and RTS games that require lots of resource management (hence point and click).

I prefer controllers for sports games and platform type games.

In terms of Mass Effect, I played first on the 360 and then recently on the PC.  I found the PC to be much easier to control, especially combat.

I guess it comes down to preference but the mouse does have it's advantages.

Flakkar, thanks for your input!  This is what I was looking for!
