Jenkins: I wonder how he will react when he sees his homeworld. Will he introduce me to interesting places there?
- Sadly, did not come to pass.

Kaidan: Straight man I can rely on. And make fun of.
- Proved right.

Ashley: How does she survive while the rest of her squad is killed? She must be either very skilled or very lucky.
- Skilled, yes. Lucky, no. She died on Virmire.

Garrus: That shot to rescue Dr. Michel is pretty awesome. I need guys like this on my team.
- Proved right.

Wrex: Hahaha he's so funny it's impossible to not like him.
- Proved right. Although he has shown unsuspected depth, which makes me like him even more.

Liara: She could be a spy planted there by Saren. But hey, keep your enemies closer.
- Proved wrong. She turns out to be the most loyal follower Shepard ever had.

Tali: Why am I forced to take her with me? And why does she really want to come with me?
- I still don't understand.

Wilson: I need to extract more data about Project Lazarus from him. As well as who he's working for.
- Sadly, did not come to pass.

Miranda: Thanks for the help, you are very capable. Although you should have kept Wilson alive for questioning.
- Proved right.

Jacob: Another straight man. Hopefully one I can rely on too.
- Proved right.

Jack: I shall need to direct her anger the right way. Also nice haircut.
- Proved right.

Grunt: Awwwwwww he's sooo00oooo cute! I hope he doesn't eat all our food though.
- He's still very cute.

Mordin: Finally a Salarian. Also he seems very capable and knowledgeable. I may learn a lot from him.
- Proved right. I did not expect him to be the big goddamn hero he turned out to be though.

Zaeed: The things this guy must have went through. He should have lots of stories to tell.
- Proved right.

Kasumi: Did you just call me silly? For playing along with your silly games?
- She turned out to be my favorite character.

Samara: Justicar, huh. Better learn the Code carefully so I don't get crushed into pulp...
- Getting in her good books turned out much easier than I thought.

Legion: A friendly Geth? Too good to be true. But hey, keep your enemies closer...
- Proved right. Geth are ambiguous allies.

Thane: Slick moves! And a cultured man! And that voice! I just hope he doesn't die too soon.
- All proven right. Thankfully I can play Drells in ME3MP.

James: Are you going to die asap like Jenkins? [shuttle crash] My inkling was right. [James walks out] Or not.
- I grew to like him.

EDI: Why didn't you choose something more practical?
- Because target audience.

Javik: Tell me more! Tell me more!
- He told me a lot. And turned out one of my favorite characters.

Kaidan:
First: Yay someone normal YAY !
Post: Homosexual who hates ceberus, maybe I should have saved ash

So what if he is? You don't even know that this unless you explore the dialogue as maleShep (and never can if you lock in a romance before him) and both he and Ash hate Cerberus, so what's the difference?

Vega:
First: Hispanic Jacob ? this just keeps getting worse Especially how stupid he is stupider then jack what a jar head
Post: MUST KILL NOW....URGE IS IRRISTABLE

Vega is essentially the standard issue "Jacob" of the obligatory squad members, but the similarities kind of end there, as he has a lot more personality and backstory written into him than Jacob. How are either he or Jack stupid? I've never heard Jack say anything particularly dumb.

In reply to your post Kaiser shep
my opinion of homosexuals is not pleasant and I don't think kaidan should have been made into one, he always seemed like the only normal squad member in the trilogy, I've got nothing wrong with him but I think his character started to change after ME1 and I just didn't like the changes

As for loco vega he may have a larger backstory then Jacob but I think Jacob has more personality, vega just seems like a stereotype(this is why I say Hispanic Jacob because he just seems to be a worse copy of Jacob), and he is stupid if you listen to the dialogue of him and jack you would understand
jack is a idiot just like vega, maybe its just because I hate both of them but to me they seem like idiots

If you think that he's a stereotype of hispanics, then needless to say that you don't know what you're talking about on that subject. As for your stance on Kaidan's sexual orientation, there's not much I can say that will comply with BSN's rules of conduct, but I will say that your opinion is bad, and you should feel bad.

Zaeed. Lulz he just knee caped that stupid Batarian. I like this guy.

Samara- Hot and she hates mercs. I like her.

Tali- Yes, yes. I'm here to save you again. Your welcome.

I admit that maybe I don't know the stereotypes of Hispanics but most in the united states have a negative view of them due to large scale immigration from Mexico and therefore some portray them as stupid and arrogant like vega but this is only because they get low paying jobs because of racial discrimination even though they are qualified for much better jobs and are very intelligent

As for my opinions on  sexual orientation I will defend my views
Why should I feel bad ?
Homosexuality is unnatural, humans and every other species are meant to be straight to order to ensure the survival of their species, Being straight is normal the opposite is not
I shouldn't feel bad for being normal
Did I mention that I am also a Catholic ?

Homosexuality is found in animals aside from humans as well, and not even all straight people will have children. Not to mention that I don't know what metric you're using for "unnatural" either.

And this is why opinions are only to be acknowledged, not necessarily respected. The claim of it being "unnatural" is absolutely false, and normalcy is a defunct argument. Catholicism is irrelevant, as the figurehead of this religion (good old JC) does not make any opinion on the subject anyway. I was raised Catholic and the subject never came up during study. There's always Leviticus, but that's OT nonsense, unless you're one of those whacky folks that oppose eating shellfish and wearing mixed fabrics.

There's maybe one instance when one might consider Vega dumb, and that's when he stomps on the console during the mission to save Admiral Koris, which was pretty hilarious. But really, why would Shepard even have this marine try to fiddle with geth technology anyway?  Other than that, I've never heard him say anything that I could consider to be outright stupid. Same goes for Jack.

I think people are basing this more off of his outward appearance than on his actual behavior and dialogue. They see dumb space jock, so every word that comes out of his mouth must obviously be dumb space jock stuff.

Well, you somehow seem to have skipped the Menae mission where Vega expresses surprise that the krogan don't show up to defend their turian allies (which sounds about as likely as US soldiers during the Cold War not never having heard of Russia).
Sure, the point is to inform new players but the game does so by making Vega an ignorant idiot. .

No, I didn't miss it, and he said no such thing. What he did was ask if the krogan and batarians are going to join in the war against the reapers (in reference to the summit), not to come to Palaven to help the turians. That was entirely Victus' idea. Vega considers the salarians and asari lightweights when it comes to straight warfare, and he's not wrong about that. I don't think the Cold War reference is really comparable to this, because the reapers intend to kill everyone. If aliens came to earth with the intent to wipe out the human race at the height of the cold war, it's doubtful that the United States and Russia's little standoff would be of much import anymore.

Somehow it's kind of weird to see pictures of Mark Vanderloo, having never known about him before Mass Effect. Anyway, Shepard's body model is pretty much identical to every other character in similar uniform, even Jeff. Only the head is unique.

I just hate vega, I think he is one of the worst characters in the ME trilogy, and their are multiple scenes where he is stupid but I can see you are a vega fan so their is no point in telling you the truth, as for the homosexuality debate, homosexuality in my opinion is unnatural and no im not a wacky crazy catholic - ( unless you're one of those whacky folks that oppose eating shellfish and wearing mixed fabrics---??? ) I just think they shouldn't have made kaidan a homosexual
also--(Homosexuality is found in animals aside from humans) Not it most definitely is not, animals are not self aware they act on instinct

Xilizhra is actually correct. Studies have proven this among multiple species. There are such things as sentient animals other than human beings, also, such as cetaceans (whales, dolphins, etc.) and primates, for starters.

I'd like to know which scenes you're talking about that illustrate Vega's stupidity.

Just in general speaking to vega and his comments on the various missions
and although some animals are sentient but they are not homosexual

Please research the subject before making this claim. And just so we're clear, "unnatural" is an invalid descriptor that only serves as a red herring in such a discussion. It's no more "natural" to play video games.

I'm led to believe that there's no specific examples one could present to really prove that Vega is indeed stupid. He doesn't wax philosophical or scientific, but that doesn't make him dumb.

Although the discussion is interesting, we risk having this thread locked (as it usually happens when the mods find out anything has switched to politics, religion, views on sexuality, etc)... I think it would be really unfortunate. Let's just say you'll have to agree to disagree.

Peace out.

well lets start he calls Garrus stupid for stopping saren
He doesn't take anything seriously especially when he is asked to be in N7
And he makes lots of countless stupid comments
And don't forget the stupid training fight scene with shepard

He never called Garrus stupid for anything, and you're wrong about his response to his N7 candidacy. If he didn't take it seriously, he would not have confided in Shepard about it. If the boxing scene makes him stupid, then wouldn't that also make Shepard stupid for participating?
