BTW I just started using a couple of classes with no fitness...still makes me nervous!

I tried once the GT without passives, also did a Thunderdome solo with that build to see the difference between the other two Flamer spam builds. I only noticed a little difference in Flamer, but the survivability was better than with the other two imo. But the best Flamer spam build is still a 66653 build imo, but I personally prefer a 65663 hybrid with a Javelin. Because Geth.

Really, passives arnt necessary, they're just extra damage and quicker cooldowns, as long as your weapons and powers still do damage, you can still plat without passives. It's just quicker with them. But they are not necessary.

Nothing is necessary, you can plat with level 0 characters. But the passive is generally more useful than fitness.

I almost always skip the passives on the vorcha sentinel. Always skip them on the original human adepts and phoenix adept. Sometimes skip them on the original human engineers. That's it.

LOL same here, tried it for the very first time a few days ago on hazard ghost vs reapers, ended very badly.

None. I would rather skip fitness (or sacrifice some ranks in it) if it boils down to a fitness vs. passive question. I find passives more useful...
