That being said, I have used it both on PS3 and PC, and I do not like it on PC. I'm not sure what is so different for me between clicking the mouse button really fast and pulling my controller trigger really fast (it's the exact same finger, after all), but the Mattock is really now just a PS3 thing for me as it's comfortable for me to play it there. I avoid it on PC because I just can't wield it with a mouse the way I do with a controller. Something just feels off/different for me, personally.

And I didn't realise we were talking about an Infiltrator here...
Yeah, don't worry about weight so much. Keep it out of the negatives and you should be fine.

Totally. I remember getting it in the MP and thinking "IT'S ON NOW BEETCHE!" And then I got a sad face.

Seriously? I'd think clicking the LMB would be way faster and easier than trying to rapidly click a trigger button on a controller.

Dead serious.
I was surprised. I expected to love the Mattock even more on PC because I assumed the same thing you did. The reality did not live up to it, though; for me, at least.

I imagine that with a bit of practice you can click quite a bit faster on peesee than with a controller. It still gives you carpal tunnel syndrome if you do it too much.DragonRacer wrote...

I' amazed that people still think cooldown matters on Infiltrators.
My 93-minute scrub Gold Solo proves that cooldown on Tac Cloak matters... if you play like I do.

Perhaps it's just a matter of practice.
Or you could just make a clicking macro.

OK, I couldn't leave this topic alone until I checked this out. AMAZING!
I found a macro for autoclicking, and did a test. Used a krosol with a disciple/choke and a mattock, both with HVB. Firing at a wall, the disciple produced a tight spread for a shotgun (I do like the disciple). Then the mattock with autoclick, which produced a spread about one fifth that size. Also, the mattock showed no tendency to rise. No need to adjust for recoil climb.
Then I redid the test, but put a scope on the mattock. MORE AMAZING!. There was hardly any pattern at all. The full magazine into a tiny pattern perhaps one twentieth of the disciple, with no rise.
This puts a whole new light on things.
For the record, the autokey macro is found at www.autohotkey.com. Download the program and when you run it, it will run a macro (on the PC). You can find the macro on this forum here
http://social.biowar.../index/15408343 (thanks to banans-huligans)
Documentation on autohotkey.com shows you how to set it up to run the script. It's pretty easy. Before starting origin, click on the autohotkey program; it will run in the background. In the game, the "caps lock" buttion toggles autoclick on and off. That's it. As huligans says, the mattock becomes a harrier-lite.
Gotta try this out in game.
edit: many thanks to all who posted here with helpful suggestions.

OT: It seems to me that it's easier to control the recoil of a semi-auto than an auto. Increased damage doesn't make a difference if half of the shots don't connect.

You have a weird perception of time.
2 seconds with reload cancel, 3.5 without.

When I say clicking macro, I simply mean using your standard mouse software to assign one of your buttons to continuously click when pressed.
No other programs should be necessary, assuming you aren't using some $2 piece of crap mouse you found in an office garbage bin.
