The arc pistol is pretty much my go to gun for scout characters. I sometimes use the geth smg for the higher capacity and ROF.

Not more, but almost as much.
In base damage, Arc Pistol is more comparable to the Mantis. But it does have access to that Heavy Barrel...
I think it's pretty clear that he was talking about the base damage of a charged shot - so Black Widow is a very good comparison.

charging it for 1 second give you three shots at three times the normal damage; so 9 times the damage. so unless you can shoot 9 times a second ( I can do 6 point something lol) it's better to charge it. even then you're consuming less ammo if you charge so you still get higher DPS that way.

Uh, what's that? You run around the map looking for enemies, and then relay their locations to the others using a mic?
