I'm on an XBOX 360

I'm building a Rogue Ranger all offensive build to solo with pet and if i want be able to have np with full party group

Must haves: Lethality, Master Stealth, Arrow of Slaying, Master Archer and Scattershot, along with however many levels of lockpicking i want( will need to raise cunning for Deft Hands and taking the whole of combat training skill

Bows: longbows. Falon Din's Reach is the best pre-landsmeet bow in the game (except Marjoline's Recurve, but that is Leliana only) and Far Song the best bow after the Landsmeet but did read I can get Far Song bow at Pre-Landsmeet, which i also heard best bow i can get before awakening, after awakening no idea yet if there is better bow lol

Stats wise, i will get enough strength for top light armor (22).  I will be able to get +2 from the Helm of Honnleath, Harvest Festival Ring and Key to the City, so i only need 16 strength. Ill get +4 strength in the fade too, and there are other +strength items like Andruili's blessing, so I won't really to put any points into strength.

someone said i need will power to cover my stamina, so how high for Will power ?

Dex wise, get 36 dex so i can get all of the archer talents.

Rest into Cunning OR just 22 in cunning then rest into dex since ONLY using bows?

Specialization wise I'm going Bard/RangerBard song to song of courage and ranger taking everything.

Am I missing anything else?

I'll take all advice i can get :)

Thanks :)

Ok after reading several posts of others on this forum and other forums, it looks like I am going stats as playing on xbox 360 there is no dex problems with longbows and that's the only weapon I'm using.

20 str
36 dex
I think 20 will power but that was from just one other post, all the other posts does agree 36 dex
Rest into cunning, so NO will power. I think 90% I'm correct on all this

Does this sound correct?

Once I import to Awakening then I'm 100% dex, so when I get to Awakening ill respec

If you have Leliana song DLC, you may want to play that first so you start game with battledress of provocateur in inventory, bregan's bow is also nice, i think solo with a ranger will be very difficult,
or at least very tedious.
i think this is a must read for archer builds

Disclaimer: both solo playthroughs and archers don't really appeal to me, but for what it's worth I think the Dexterity-focused build seems like a good fit for solo play, since stacking defense is ludicrously effective in Origins (you'll be nigh unhittable by most things). I'll link a video at the bottom of my post of another player doing this so you can see how it works.

If you really want to stick with Ranger though, a few points in willpower may be necessary since the pet summons count as an extra sustainable, and your Scattershot and Arrow of Slaying are going to be pretty important. Otherwise, Duelist is a pretty good choice for dueling mode + keen defense, and if you feel you need the extra defense you have the defensive fire and suppressive fire sustains. If this is something that interests you, then you can just use the strength boosting gear when you get it in order to equip the felon's coat without putting any points into str, like you mentioned, and enough cunning to get master stealth (possibly more if you care at all about being able to unlock every chest, up to you).

Gear is pretty basic, you seem to have it down. Far Song or Sorrows of Arlathan (if you have it) are the best bows available I believe, Helm of Honleath, Felon's Coat, Repeater Gloves, Cadash Stompers, and the standard top-tier accessories. Since your defense is going to be so insane you could probably swap the Lifegiver for the Wicked Oath ring if you really wanted to:

+10% critical/backstab damage
+1 armor penetration
+2 stamina regeneration in combat

If solo is the only way you want to play, then you are like me,
and i suggest play as you are intending until you have unlocked AW,
and then start a new avatar that can select AW at lv 7,
or just keep playing with the current avatar but leave the gang at camp once AW is unlocked.
AW is the one build to solo with
