Because making a decision based on the look or because other people were making justified criticism towards one

Is poor decision making

Sorry, justified criticism isn't making a fuss anytime someone mentions they are open to getting either console.

It also isn't justified criticism when this very exchange we're having right now wouldn't be happening if I said I was getting the other console because of the same reason.

/Implying that I care what console someone is getting

I'm perfectly fine with people buying the Xbox One(80), but if someone is doing it for the reasons I posted above I call that poor decision making imho

At any rate, if the consoles are worth buying, then I am buying the one that the majority of my friends are buying. Gaming is more fun with friends.

This too. Asked my buddies, some are going PS4 but most are going X1, so that affected it.

It's generalizing though. You've simply been exposed to the wrong audience and have made a judgmental error based on that. You said you don't want to game with those type of people.

I walk into a Ryse video and there's Xbox fanboys slating the PS4. I walk into a Deep Down video and there's Playstation fanboys slating the Xbone.

Point is; there's fanboys on both sides and jerks on all platforms. PC included (sorry PC Mustard Race).

For me it falls down to which console I think will offer more. Going on my past experiences with Microsoft consoles (mostly bad) I'll be purchasing a PS4 somewhere down the line (probably 2015) and not an Xbone. Not to mention that the PS3 had the best exclusives so - IMO - it stands to reason that the PS4 will as well.

Also there's a cloud based system on the PS4 that will allow the user to stream, download and play PS3 games (from a library of course). Likely the best-selling and highest-rated PS3 games will be there such as The Last of Us, Uncharted Series, God of War series, Demon's Souls and all the other PS3 exclusives I've missed out on. So for me, that's just another reason why I'll be getting a PS4 over the Xbone.

If everyone is legitimately happy with their decision on which console they're going to purchase, then I don't see why there's still an argument about it. Post your opinion if you like. If you really don't care what everyone else thinks about it, stop arguing back and forth.

I'm on the Wii U side, once I recover from the 3ds working me over in the discretionary funds department, anyway.

All the people that tried to bully me into getting a PS4 are getting a PS4 so I went X1.

I'm sure some of the people ragging on the X1 when it deserved to be ragged on were PC gamers or people who just like watching things burn.

Just once I'd like one of these threads to be filled with people supporting everyone's choices instead of alwaaaays trying to justify why one was wrong and another was correct

No idea. I'm not interested in the game whatsoever so I haven't been following it, but has anyone said anything about a PC release?

PS4, mostly because there are a few exclusives I'm interested in and the Xbox One has failed to impress me.

Microsoft holds all the rights to the game, so it's entirely up to them.

Whoa. Is it really a big deal? I mean, just buy what you want. People are going to be people, be they pains or not, where ever you go. Personally, I game on PC but I'll probably go X1 as the best and I talked about it and that's what we want.

Well, I'm all for that, honestly. I can't, however, disagree with those who argue that "I decided to buy X, because people repeatedly told me to buy Y" is a way to make such decisions they personally wouldn't take and don't neccessarily deem wise.

Then again it comes down to what they want in their lives. For LP it was a valid piece of information. If his peers are pressuring him in this aspect, what other aspect will they pressure him into? Does he really want to deal with that? It was his reality. So much so, he based a decision on it. As long as he knows the possible outcomes and consequences than I would say, good luck. Hope it works out.

Xbox One. A great lineup and transferable gamerscore makes it an easy decision for me.

Neither appeal to me.

But perhaps if the Sony Defense Force had spent half as much effort into standing up for themselves as they did whining about the Xbone, Sony wouldn't be implementing paid online.

These guys spent YEARS bashing the Xbox Live paywall, then Sony comes out with a paywall of their own, and they completely changed their minds THAT SECOND and started telling everyone to get a job.

There was no coming to terms with their beloved company ****ting all over them, they just went for the Sony kool aid.

Except they aren't drinking it, they are drowning in it, and they don't give a damn.

Fanboys will be fanboys. They will throw their money to their "glorious" overlords even when it is clearly a stupid idea to do so. These people don't see things for how they are, they treat corporations as people who care about them and what they think, when clearly the only thing they care about is what makes them money.

If DRM suddenly made millions of dollars for everyone, you can be sure that both M$ and Sony would trash their fanbase in exchange for those millions.

I'll wait a few years until they release their upgraded siblings. Then I'll re-assess the situation.

I've been telling people to get a job way before Sony started charging for online.
