I tried. I didn't talk about Majolaine (sp?), I didn't talk about spending time with women. I didn't ask her what her plans were. I avoided anything that might be construed as romantic in any way. I thought I'd done it, because Alistair didn't ask me about leading her on. She was at 100% friendly, but showing no signs of anything else. Then Alistair and the PC got engaged and she was all sad. None of the responses were what I wanted to say which was 'what the heck are you talking about? We're not even remotely involved, you crazy woman.'

i know how you feel unless im a complete ass to her she falls heads over hells in love with me despite saying " we are only friends, no we cant be together Grey warden duty and stuff and what not" and she still gets pissy over me loving some one else despite never showing interest in her at all



Alistair also pulled something similar last game after the landsmeet, we was having that talk about how we couldent be together because I couldn't have kids... problem is I was a guy and never used any mods to romance him or anything

Well if you think about it it does make some sense that is if you are giving her all the gifts you find for her. Also if you are solving a lot of the quests the way she likes I could see how someone like her would fall for the PC even if the PC didn't show any interest.

I think it has to do with what kind of approval you get with Eliana. You can have high approval with her, but she´s still only friendly. I managed to get her interested when I flirted with her early in the beginning, when she told about her background at the chantry.



Though I also have a question. After bumbling into her side quest I happen to get her approval from interested to "cary". Anyone know if that is a good sign if you want a romance with her?

I once broke off the romance with her around the third treaty, ended the game, and when I went back to camp in the post epilogue save, I had the "join me in my bedroll" conversation with Leliana.  After having the "so you and Alistair are together" conversation.    Maybe she just couldn't resist my player character.

lol you know that in real life you can tell someone that you are just friends and that's all you wish to be and they still fall in love with you right? the heart wants what the heart wants, she can't deny her love for you and of course she's sad now seeing that her hopes and dreams of being with you are now gone.

While eveyone has given excellent character reasons for her behavior, it's a bit disconcerting to suddenly have dialogue options apologizing for breaking it off with her when nothing has occurred, and when I worked so hard not to lead her on, so I'll check out that bug fix. Thanks!

That's a strange bug given that Alistair is so resolutely straight. I wonder if you have a mod that's creating an unintended side effect? Seems unlikely to occur accidently, though, doesn't it....

In the playthrough I did as a male, I had Wynne pushing Leliana at me. I had been to Morrigans & Zevrans tent & got the "your'e quite taken with each other" convo from Wynne. I replied, "so you know about Zevran & me". Wynne gave the usual response then started with "Leliana's a lovely girl blah blah blah". I hadn't at any stage romanced Leliana, although I had done her quest. Next time I tried to talk to Leliana, she abused me for sleeping with Morrigan & Zev & told me I had to choose -WTF.

Holy crap I thought I was the only person this happened to! Did you have any mods like the dialgoue tweaks installed? I never got this issue when playing the Xbox version, but when I go on the PC and my only mods are models/items/dialgue bug fixes, Alistair post-Landsmeet talks to my male mage as if they were lovers breaking it off.

I installed the latest dialogue tweaks after I got that conversation and reloaded my game pre landsmeet and I got the normal "you better help me" talk instead of him coming out of the closet



Leliena however...bah stop falling in love with me woman! I dont even like her either which makes it more annoying (just because I dont like her doesnt mean Im going to be outright mean to her unless im playing a jackass like my dwarf noble run through)

I checked out the mod that was suggested. Unfortunately, it does way more than I want. I'd like one that just fixed the trigger bugs, not one that changes the game, especially one that changes it extensively. Thanks for pointing it out, though! I'm sure it will appeal to others reading the thread.

Same with me, had it both with her and Zevran at the landsmeet when i was engaged to alistair, they both gave me guilt trips, Zevran even blackmailed me!! I didn't even go as far as kiss either of them or flirt.

Did not have this problem at all. I told her early on that she was a treasured friend and she never wanted to make scissors with me after that. She even talked to my character about Alistair's performance in bed.

Yep, she did that with me, and the very next conversation, she apparently thought I'd ended our relationship to get engaged to Alistair. If it's not a but, then it's something that's a little too easy to break.

From my experience, yes. "Caring" is the next level up from "Interested" on the romantic scale.

On my current playthrough my human noble warrior is sleeping with Morrigan, has never uttered a word to Leliana which might be construed as romantic interest, then up on top of the mountain just before fighting the High Dragon I accidentally clicked on Wynn and she started prattling on about my relationship with Leliana. Very odd.

That's an understatement. Leli is almost insane. I couldnt help but laugh when she starts on her song around the campfire. I though for a minute DAO had transformed into a musical! LOL

I love Morrigan's response to Leli signing; shaking her head :-)

The Leliana romance is messed up I can tell you that.



In one of my playthroughs I was romancing Morrigan but not Leliana. I didn't say anything that will trigger the "interested" approval thingy, always chose the "we're friends" dialogue. She even said that Morrigan is a lucky girl and she was happy for me.



After I finished her quest however she confessed that she loved me... I said that I just rather we stayed friends and that there is someone else in my life. The next time I talked to her, the jealousy dialogue pops up that forces you to choose .. something like "you say you love me and you have her on the side?" lolwut?
