How do you keep yourself on top if you notice the jealous player catchin' up to your score through hard nuking? How do you maintain your dominance?
don't revive them.
if they're that intent on nuking everything, it's likely they'll be going down often rushing spawns.
or if you're REALLY lucky, they'll spawn synckill units behind them and get downed for an entire wave leaving all the nuking to you. score is everything, never forget that.

Lol, it's the average amount of nukes I would use, because I assume squadmates will be using theirs when things get pretty bad.

So, what do you when you notice someone is really trying to nuke spawns and hordes of enemies on Wave 11 to top you on the leaderboards when all you've simply done was kicking *** the whole time and not minding any attention to your team mates?
I get this a lot during PUG matches on Gold and Platinum. I nuke about 3 times within a match, but in the end you have the second guy on the leaderboards who is just jealous and needs to top you by nuking a bunch on Wave 11 or they won't feel good about themselves. The very worst bit of playing in this game and the biggest mistakes teams make is the none use of rockets. Most games, even pug games with medium players can be a cake walk if each player used a couple of missiles at the right time in games.

I think part of it is they are selfish players but then again some are just not sure when to use a rocket appropriately as well. Extraction is a battle for some to stay alive for extra credits.Beerfish wrote...
I don't care how much people nuke with one addendum and this addendum almost always comes into place. The same people that nuke on later spawns cling to rockets like grim death through the whole match refusing to use one to save a team mate, refusing to use one or more for objectives, refusing to use one to defuse a potential bad situation (Cerberus turret)

I agree to a point, some people are just not sure when to use them but it's a rare rare game when anyone uses them. If I play with good players/bsners then the need for rockets is much less but the average pug game I use almost if not all my rockets every game and almost never on a spawn. I almost always use one or two on extraction, near the ezone if there is any real threat.

Also it's his missiles so as long as they don't cheat I do not care. I actually wish they were close enough in score by wave 11 so I wouldn't have to carry three pugs in a platinum. It gets really tiresome after a while.

There are some waves where the enemy is just so much easier with a spawn nuke. Collectors eight is one of them whether it be Gold or Plat. Geth Plat wave two. Those waves are consumable drainers for the whole team without a spawn nuke. When I rocket on those waves it's not just for myself/my score, it improves the whole teams chances of getting through that wave with minimal consumable usage.Beerfish wrote...

Who cares? It's only annoying when they held onto every consumable for the first 10 waves, then wave 11 rockets ...
Amazing as it sounds, there are some very good players out there who are not on BSN at all, from what I can tell .. you could easily land in a lobby with one of them and get outscored, but does it really matter?

Maybe we need a separate thread on best spawn-nuking practices. Then I need some sort of cheat-sheet index card handy as I play.NuclearTech76 wrote... Seems like sometimes if I nuke, e.g., two banshees at a time then it just makes two more appear elsewhere. Rule I follow of late is to take out all mooks first then go for bosses. But, if I come across a potential kill-streak then I might nuke.

Hah ha ha, fair enough! No, that totally makes sense. I get motivated that way too but I guess I have to notice it happening. "Whoa, isn't that the salarian's second headshot medal? This is wave 2--dang, this guy's serious!"XFG-65 wrote...

OP, I understand your motivation but don't share it at all. I don't even think about score until the match is over and the score screen is loading. "Oh yeah, let's see how I did." At that point I just look for a few things:But actually checking the score during a match? LOL, no. More power to you though!
- How long the match took.
- Whether any of the puggers were just complete leeches.
- Revive medals, on me and the others.
- If I was using a normal kit and other people were using superkits did I at least stay close?
- If I was using a mad killer kit did I represent the kit well?
I have to admit, I always check the score after every single wave and multiple times during most waves. I do that every single game, it's a bad habit. It might sounds silly to most, but the scoreboard highly motivates me to up my game, especially if I'm falling behind good players.

Missile use aside - the scoring system is wonky anyway. IIRC, you can detonate explosions left and right and still be at the bottom of the scoreboard if you weren't the primer. As long as things are dying watching the score seems pointless.

I let them do whatever, more points for the team.
This. My friends and I are usually playing sub-level 20 characters and leveling them up. So, the more mayhem, the merrier. More points = more XP = faster level ups.
Besides, when your manifest is full, and the only thing you can spend your credits on is more consumables, then going out of a match without using every last one of your cobras is a waste...
