Yep, I said it.

Fitness is only decent
1)if there is no other better power options.
2)if used for melee.
3)if you have a class designed entirely around being a tank, like the Juggernaut. Which most juggernauts suck anyways so I guess it still sucks.
4)if the fitness tree gives you something else in return like movement speed.

Spec your powers, get a cylconic crutch on and destroy some aliens/robots/insects/scrubs.

No.

Not because I disagree but because reasons.

Weapons build classes disprove your theory. And since almost any class can become a Weapons build class...

Fitness is for players with under 1200 hrs of gameplay (like myself) who only know about %85 of how the spawning will work given the position of their teammates.

I'm assuming around that # of hours played, you can cover the other %15 ... then fitness isn't needed (unless Warlord, Juggy, or Drell)

I don't seem to get that many cyclonics or shield gear so I usually spec up to 4 levels of fitness. I'll be first to admit to my scrubiness, though.

Damage output trumps health and shields.

What is dead cannot kill you..........unless it's a Ravager or Brute corpse. Those are OP.

Most players that have become "good" at this game would agree with you on that. It's a no-brainer really.

This I disagree with. I realize what I said echoes what you're saying, I just don't think there's a set # of hours one should play before getting rid of fitness.

I think that players should use fitness until they get used to the shield/health thresholds in battle, and should lean on them less and less as they progress. Taking less fitness allows you to use all your powers AND your passives on every kit you spec, so why sacrifice DPS when you can learn to survive with the lower shields & health over time?

I agree with some reasons but i wouldn't claim such thing in general. Sometimes passive is not necessary because of the 3 powers' nature (asari adept BE build), sometimes it's not worth investing in all 3 powers because they can't be used effectively (turian soldier CS-less build). So that leaves fitness a better option.

Fitness is a crutch, unless your playing on acid rain that shield gates you and turn your screen red making it impossible to see anything.

I have less than 300hrs played so I guess I fit the category.  :? Some characters I don't spec into fitness. But for the most part ide prefer some fitness atleast if not all.

More a controversial baiting title than anything. It's situational totally but fitness is generally a fallacy on a lot of power classes anyways especially on higher levels. If a power is crap and gives me nothing, I spec melee unless it makes no sense then I spec fitness.

Percantage wise on most things the fitness evos are pretty meh comparative to the shields from cyclonics.

Agreed completely. I really only put fitness on characters if a certain power is terrible or if I feel I don't need it. Lately I've been trying to go without cyclobics as well and maximize damage output.

Why am I imagining the TC to be a fat, burping blob of a person in front of a PC right now?

edit://
Just went over this thread again and realized how easily antagonizing this post might be interpreted as, so I want to emphasize: I do not mean to offend, it is simply a random thought that manifested when reading the thread's title.

If I offended, I apologize.

Shield gate is a crutch.

Seeing anything is a crutch.

Hearing anything is a crutch.

Shooting is a crutch.

Using powers is a crutch.

The only proper way to play this game is to spend all of your time, face planted in the ground, mashing the following buttons in the following order: Sprint, Take Cover, Sprint, Activate, Revive, Sprint, Vault Over Cover.

That's how I solo Platinum, anyways.

Fitness versus enemy damage output.

Kill it and kill it fast or it will kill you.

Again damage output is superior to fitness.

I always like to take the first 2 ranks in fitness, I never go without at least 2 ranks. Full fitness on drell adept and vanguard (movement speed), juggernaut, destroyer, krogan vanguard, and possibly a few more. At the end of the day, on most characters, the main thing that makes a difference to survivability is using a cyclonic 3 or 4, rather than how many points you have in fitness.

We must get some duos going soon! Do you have any lvl 20 characters or are you still promoting?
