I think it makes more sense to skimp on passives, get more fitness, then run a power amp since you get more power damage out of a power amp III or IV on most kits than taking rank 4b+5a of passives (on most kits).

I nearly always aim for Fitness 5. Though it does not recover shield gate any faster, the increased shield recovery speed allows me to take riskier routes with lower down time. Due to that, Fitness 6 almost always ends up more attractive than rank 3 power X

3 things I hate:
1. getting killed & my teammates don't bother to revive me forcing me to waste a Medigel
2. reloading
3. running to ammo crates
So for me 3 things are automatic in every game:
1. Fitness
2. Cyclonic mods
3. Lancer or Collector SMG

I run no fitness on a bunch of characters. AM III and Geth Scanner will save me so much more than fitness in most cases.
