Nah, you're not a scrub. You're a team player who stays alive to revive other scrubby players like yours truly. ^_^
Some other top players have specced into fitness, some in this thread, so your not alone.

MASSKETEER, my suggestion is that you read point 4 of the OP.

Oh yes, you're right. My fault. But I wouldn't spec into fitness just for a 10% increase in movement speed. Because  what rather keeps you alive (when using the drell adept) are the extra points in health and shields and not  the 10%. So it's hard for me to understand the argument to spec into fitness only for some kind of secondary benefit.

I'm a scrub - I like fitness.

(For melee that is! :D)

But in all seriousness, Evil's post hits the nail on the head. Saves me having to type too much!

Only kits I don't go with shields are full melee in fitness (to be fair, that's a fair number of them). Otherwise I like to go 4 or 6 with shields. 5 seems like a waste of points on its own.

There are a few where I put only 3 ranks - such as the asari adept and human engineer.

Only kit with 0 fitness is the huntress.

There are many ways to access some form of DR on different kits, through dodge, melee or powers, making the health more valuable.

I wonder if you guys would be saying this if you had to play with 300+ ms ping on a routine basis.

Well if it does ,then I am one happy scrub with my fitness builds  Not that I couldn't be persuaded otherwise by good arguments, or an in-game demonstration (if OP happens to play on PC), or even a solid gameplay footage.

Does anyone else find the phrase "Fitness is a crutch" paradoxically delicious?

LOL the thing that definitly keeps the drell alive is the increased movement speed, not those health/barrier points.

Is it flirting if I call you a dirty dirty scrub?

Such a charmer! That's what every girl wants to be called.

@IamZAE ~ Thank you! That is what I thought as well. No fitness builds have been suggested to me but I just feel more comfortable with at least 3 ranks. I know it doesn't make much difference and is probably some kind of placebo effect. It is just my personal preference.

@ArgentN7 ~ Happy to know I'm not alone.

@David Diablo ~ Aw, now I feel like less of a fitness scrub. Thanks David! :kissing:

Yep, I said it.

Fitness is only decent
1)if there is no other better power options.
2)if used for melee.
3)if you have a class designed entirely around being a tank, like the Juggernaut. Which most juggernauts suck anyways so I guess it still sucks.
4)if the fitness tree gives you something else in return like movement speed.

Spec your powers, get a cylconic crutch on and destroy some aliens/robots/insects/scrubs.

You know, I have a four-point rule of thumb on when to spec for fitness, and my four points are exactly the same as these. Great minds think alike and all that...

I rarely use cyclonics though, I find Adrenaline Modules are generally better for survival. And much more fun.

True. Characters without dodge gain so much more survivability from adrenaline modules than from cyclonics. If I run out of something it's adrenaline modules.

All my Drell get full fitness. Whenever I skip a power (like Lash on my Smashdept or Flamer on my GT), I'll also go full fitness. Otherwise, I'll either put some points into fitness or none at all (TSen gets 5 ranks in TA and 3 ranks in fitness).

I do that too usually. Cause I have no use whatsoever for fitness on an infiltrator, and taking TC to 6 allows me to change weapon if I ever want to.

I would if I had a more positive outlook on sniping in this game.  Seeing as how I don't zoom in right where I'm initially pointing 95% of the time... I'm not too enthusiastic about it.

Besides, I have respec cards.

Ah yeah, I can understand that. I'm on PC, so things are different for me.

Mikael, I run most of my builds as no fitness and I'm on pc. we're already friends on Origin, so if you want a demonstration we can just get a game together whenever we catch esch other. We should anyway, haven't played together enough

For example, I can play my no fitness and no cyclonic FQE whenever you want. Just... Let's try not to make me lag too much, otherwise you'll end up with a revive medal, yeah.

Fitness is for players with under 1200 hrs of gameplay (like myself) who only know about %85 of how the spawning will work given the position of their teammates.

I'm assuming around that # of hours played, you can cover the other %15 ... then fitness isn't needed (unless Warlord, Juggy, or Drell)

The key statement there:  "given the position of their teammates"

Why is there always some damn fool random running down in the basement and @$*&% up the spawn just before the wave kicks off?  Particularly when I just placed a recon mine there to debuff??  There is no accounting for PUGs !$*^(*$ up the spawns.

Fitness, because most likely you'll end up clutching in a random match.

Play PC, see how far the warp ball can go. You might be surprised.  Then you might get some fitness.  Also, I find pugging more challenging - and that means you will need at least some points in fitness.

True, but if you can soak up some damage that also gives you more time to do damage.

You're generally not doing much damage if you are waiting for shield restore, shield and healthgates to kick back in, bleeding out or is too busy dodging fire and running.

Damage output is equally hurt by time "wasted" on repositioning and moving around the map.

It's a compromise as with everything else.

Not sure for PC, but on XBOX that warp ball will hunt you down, disappear at some point, them magically you'll be warped while taking cover behind a wall after 5 seconds passes. Running away is actuallu worse than a last minute dodge attempt.

I always have 3 ranks in fitness if not more. Why one might ask (like many of you actually care)? I do it because it is always handy to have a safety barrier to get you out of unexpected trouble. Also I prefer to have my melee be able to at least tip over an empty soup can instead of doing nothing. Granted I don't like to melee too much unless I am Krogan or Batarian but that is besides the point.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with having 3 ranks in fitness on any kit. The extra shields it provides can mean the difference of making the corner to hide or not.

I'm impressed. Then show me how to play the drell adept offensively on platinum without fitness. Adrenaline module won`t save your a** all the time and the team will hate you for reviving you infinite times I guess.

I'm guessing you didn't read the OP, right?
