I aways wonder what conditions cause an mage to become an abomination. I know that mages that are taken over by an demon by force becomes the monsters we know well. But if an mage seek an demon and make a pact with them, do they become these monsters eventually? Merrill is an blood mage for over 7 years, and yet, she was never turned.
Merely making a pact with a demon doesn't do it, unless the demon possesses you. This can happen either because you simply weren't strong enough to enforce the part of the pact whereby it doesn't happen, or because you wanted/needed more power than you figured you could get without being possessed.

It is NOT shown that Justice is not a being, if, going by the rest of this, you are trying to suggest he doesn't or never existed. I'm not sure where you're getting this at all. There's a huge question as to whether Justice is the same being he was prior to the merger, or whether he's been twisted into Vengeance, or he and Anders became a new being altogether, but Justice himself definitely was a being in his own right prior to their fateful decision to join together.
The one that blow up the Chantry is Anders himself, not the spirit, it is his decision, his plan, and he take the responsibility.
Kelder, Bartrand, Meredith, Quentin and Tarohne...they are all crazy, they are all doing evil things because they are crazy. Not because demons told them to do so. We can see that only Quentin and Tarohne are Mages out of the 5 characters. Kelder, Bartrand and Meredith are not Mages, destruction they bring far worse than any Mages.
I think that is what DA2 plot trying to show, that is the demons and spirit is representative of emotions, intentions, values, it being exaggerated and it's exaggeration. People can be bad and people can be good, it is not because of demons and spirit told them to, it is their own doing.

Total and complete bs. Sorry but the blood stains, cuts, and the person who got there liver cut out is real and not an delusion. An entire tower of templars and mages did not have the same deliuion of an abomination/demon up rising.
Sorry but it's real, even the bits from da2.

Justice does things in Awakenings that this doesn't explain. (Edit: At least, not without things getting really weird.)
Edit2: You're right that Kelder's organically ill. The rest of it? No. That really was magic.

Actually, an alternate character interpretation where Justice doesn't really exist and Anders just has a somewhat medically inaccurate version of MPD could be a plausible interpretation of his appearances in DA2. The difficulty is that this doesn't work at all in the context of his existence in Awakenings where he animates a corpse.

It's still plausible that the disorder would work differently there, especially given the effect this disease would have on his magic going by his specialization.

The fact we know Justice exsisted in awakening throws this out the window.

That's what I said: even though Anders being insane could work in DA2, the reason this theory doesn't work is because we watch Justice do things in Awakenings that simply do not work in the context of this theory.

First point, Anders only says it was his doing alone if you do the friendship path; he says that Justice took him completely over on the rivalry one, and insists that he fought Justice only to lose. Moreover, Anders says inconsistent things about himself and Justice throughout the game; the only thing realy definitive to conclude from this is that Anders himself doesn't understand the situation and just because he asserts something doesn't mean he's right...doesn't mean he knows what he's talking about.
Secondly, you are REAAAAALLLLLY stretching things to seriously claim that Thedosians are just imagining demons and spirits and the Fade. I do agree that one of the points raised by the narrative is that human beings are capable of evil just fine without the help of demons or blood magic. But that doesn't mean that it follows that within the story, demons and spirits are just figments of the characters' imaginations.

Thedas is filled with lyrium...it is also shown that lyrium will damage your brain, red lyrium will bring more damage. We can say that the whole peoples of Thedas are actually schizophrenic, it is because they live in environment contaminated by lyrium
It just that level of craziness is difference from a person to person
So they saw demons and such thing...like in Templae of Andraste, it clearly it was build on a mountain full of lyrium, we can see Guardian, Ash Wraith, our own reflection, spirits....it's lyrium
Lyriums that make things look real, it is illusion, everyone in Thedas are deluded and crazy lol

Many of the characters in the games have no reason to know what demons should look like. Magic isn't exactly everyday stuff in this setting. Besides, isn't it just a little weird for the party to know exactly what they should be hallucinating when a mage starts thinking he's doing... something?
And even if you come up with an explanation for this, you're still way overcomplicating the setting. We have no evidence that anything in DA:O shouldn't be taken at face value other than the lore, and that doesn't support you either.

I'm not sure it's worth the trouble to say this, but that's NOT how drug-induced delusions work.
