I just watched the above link and saw for me some new gameplay from the up and coming title DA:I, I was amazed/blown away by this and of course my anticipation has only grown but I couldn't help but break of the rule of youtube and not read the comments as I like to see like minded individuals and share in the enthusiam for the videos, yet I quite a bit of hate for a game that's still not complete or released yet and a lot of the blame people are throwning around as well nonsense.

One person was saying how they ruined this game, and my immediate reply was "What are you comparing this too?"

Another was blaming EA and saying they should have left this to someone like Ubisoft, I had no reply because I was like "What the hell have they made that was so impressive RPG wise?" not to mention BioWare is the one developing the game EA is their publisher or am I mistaken? 

To me money speaks louder than words and BioWare/EA have obviously be quite successful in getting my money, Ubisoft hasn't seen one cent from me and I don't see that changing anytime soon, and that's based purely on the types and quality of games each company releases.

"Fan" doesn't mean "accepts everything the developer gives us". "Fan", you must remember, is short for "fanatic". They have a "fanatical" investment in the series and respond with intensity, for good or ill.

I can't say I know why people hate for the sake of hating. But I'm actually willing to bet that many of those haters will buy the game anyway, thus giving money to Bioware and EA, just to confirm to themselves that they ought to feel justified hating it.

Generally, I think the reaction to Inquisition has been fairly positive thus far. I've even seen a few people say Inquisition might be their first Dragon Age game.

There's negativity, but it's coming primarily from the "Witcher 3 will be better" and "I won't forgive BW for ME3/DA2" camps. Nothing will satisfy those people except a really good game.

Yes, disappointed fans are a different story. They criticize the product and continue to buy in honest hopes of the next product being better.

I think Witcher 3 will be better, but I'm getting DAI too.

And you're free to think so. That said, there are a lot of Witcher fans set on hating the game.

.....So i suck at making topics because I wanted to share something about my experience with unwarrented distain for a game that isn't out yet that i assume most of us here are highly anticipating?

Fans have the right to be disappointed, annoyed, angry etc about a particular game or gaming co pany. Personally I wish fans could express their opinions in a respectful and thoughtful manner.

I think Witcher 3 will be better, but I'm getting DAI too.

A lot of it is just straight-up trolling.

For the people who aren't, they're channeling their lingering hatred of ME's ending and DA2 at Inquisition.

In the end, they'll all buy the game and enjoy it.

I'm lucky - I started playing DA after DA2 was released and did that first so I wasn't let down. I don't play ME because it holds no interest for me, honestly. I'm looking forward to DAI because I don't have unrealistic hopes. I bet I'll have fun playing it. It will probably frustrate and infuriate me, as learning DAO and DA2 did. I'll bet there's something about the story I'll be able to get into. Do I d4mn it with faint praise? Maybe. Am I going to worry about enjoying playing it? Not at all.

Perhaps not even that. The ME3 debate has shown me there are people who interpret things in the worst possible light in order to have justification for their hate.

Apart from that, I agree the reaction has been fairly positive, though there is also a fair amount of trepidation after ME3.

Many fans were disappointed by DA2, and probably feel that DA:I will go the same way. They're likely just venting their anger at DA2 on these videos.

It is silly, but some people seem to have this idea that Bioware owe it to their fans to create the game that they want. The reality is that they owe nobody anything - the only thing they 'owe' is EA, and they owe it to them to generate lots of revenue. If the way to do that is to make a typical style-over-content RPG that looks and plays like every other console RPG out there, that's what they do. In the end, hardcore fans don't matter, because no matter how much we may praise Bioware on the forums, we each only buy one copy of the game, so it's in their interest to make a game that as many people as possible will buy one copy of. This is even more important now that they're a subsidiary of EA, because if Bioware don't make them enough money, they'll just dissolve them.

I'm not blaming anyone, just stating the facts as I see them. Of course, I could be completely wrong, maybe Bioware always wanted to make games like this but couldn't afford it until EA took over, and gave them a huge cash injection. ;-)
