I only used human adept like twice in the beginning. Lately been re configuring all original characters. Keeping it interesting.  Human Adept is really an awesome character. I go thru gold pretty easily and hardly even fire my weapon. Was with a full team, but long way ahead in first place for score. I dont put any points towards warp. You dont need it. All health & power damage. You can configr singularity & shockwave to you play style. Singularity works on armor, shields, and barriers. Shockwave whatever comes thru your singularity. BIOTIC EXPLOSION! Even multiple. Keep light weight weapons. I enjoy using Scorpion, pistol power magnifier, magazing upgrade. 0,6,6,6,6. Singularity (down, down, down) Shockwave (down,up,up) Alliance Training (down,up,up) Fitness (down, down, down)

No . Singularity does not work on armour sheilds and barriers . You can catch them in BEs . Better to skip passives and/or fitness than to skip Warp in my view.
Just too good a power to pass up.

No Warp? L2P scrub or go back to Bronze.

Also, power magnifier doesn't increase detonation damage just so you know, and fitness is totally useless on this class.

Warp-less HA is like a Nova-less HV. Throw him out the airlock.

I wouldn't recommend skipping warp. Spec singularity for the explode evo and you get a free biotic explosion when paired with warp.

Please don't skip warp on ANYTHING that gets it. That and the paladins snap freeze are like the two best powers in the game

Human Adept is pretty awesome. You get two of them as well so easier to experiment. I wouldn't ever consider skipping warp on a serious build though.

Shockwave is sadly underrated. But, yes you've got a good point; warp on this character is largely redundant. Ever since singularity was buffed; singularity and shockwave are the way to go! Image IPB

Never underestimate the stagger effect from shockwave (can often be a life-saver) and singularity is more powerful these days and does work to drain barriers and prime BEs.

It's a powerhouse to be sure. Image IPB

Singularity has done damage to anything within its reach, and primed armor, shields and barriers ever since patch 1.04. It just doesn't lift things that have those additional defense layers.

I prefer execution by firing squad.

(Is that a BSG reference btw? If not, then excuse me, nvm.)

So you learned to play him now and even now play him in an suboptimal way. Well, good for you if you like it.

No it wasn't. The old Singularity was awesome at locking down shielded enemies; it was almost like a mini Stasis. Then you shot their face off with a Talon so they get pulled in, and cast Warp. Boom! Bosses? Warp + Shockwave. Bigger boom!

With the new Singularity though, I'm inclined to just drop Shockwave. Sure it has more powerful explosions, but crap range and slooooooooooooooooooooooow travel time. Don't even know why they bother with a range evo when you can't hit anything at that increased range because it's so effing slow.

Whoops. Still managed top (hey there's a first time for everything! Image IPB). Still, I come from the generation when BC vanguards were suicide, and, naturally, the Novaguard was really predominantly in that category (due to BC and nova being up-close-and-personal powers and shockwave was, at the time, even more useless than a peashooter - bad analogy, I know Image IPB). Therefore I learned to use vanguards without playing them as vanguards - if that makes any sense Image IPB

Hmm. It looks like Mass Effect stole a few things from BSG. Raptors, vipers, raiders, guardians, centurions, and now airlocks.

Singularity is still awesome against mooks. Against bosses you should always go with warp -> shockwave + weapon though, as it has the strongest biotic explosions. When you're in the same team as somebody with area Reave, Stasis, offensive bubble,  Dark Sphere, or even Snap Freeze or Flamer, then Shockwave is the superior detonator.

And skipping Warp on anything was punishable by deah in the empire.
