It's just an internet forum full of imaginary people discussing trivial matters, no harm done.

It is. If you absolutely can't be arsed to play the games but still want to experience the story, there's some people who uploaded playthroughs minus the combat and walking around. Just look for 'Mass Effect (1/2/3) the movie' on Youtube. First game is about 2 hours, second one is about 3 hours and the third is probably even longer than that.XFG-65 wrote...

Okay thanks. I tried playing the campaign of ME3 for a lttle bit but the story wasn't making any sense at all, I didn't skip any cutscenes, but I got the impression that the story plays a very big part of the single player experience. So after a few hours I just moved on to the multiplayer. Eventually, if I get time, I'll try to play the other games.

If you do play ME3, just stop playing at the plot point when you get to Earth after Cronos Station.

Well, anybody who says that ME3 is a good point to start in the trilogy is full of shit in my opinion. I'd also recommend playing it yourself, since it's more fun to make your own choices rather than watch someone stick to either paragon or renegade for a whole playthrough.XFG-65 wrote...

I didn't play any of the previous ME games so I didn't have any save files to import or whatever. The whole way through my brief experience of playing the campaign, I stuck with the renegade options each time I had to make a decision, just to be a dick, lol. I don't think the other characters liked me very much.

If you play through all three games it can be a bit tricky. Basically, sometimes you should take a paragon option to get another renegade option later. Handing Legion over to Cerberus is the renegade option for example, but you'll be unable to do his loyalty mission (and it's renegade decision) if you do it. It's nice to be consistent, but sometimes even a paragon wants to punch a certain reporter in the face.XFG-65 wrote...

It makes me smile every time. Send one phantom flying, and you'll have to send them all flying.
I was quite surprised how good of a melee character they can be. Good fun that I haven't done in a while.

I'm good enough to play without powers but why the hell would I want to. Warp not only detonates but also primes, it also debuffs and panics unshielded mooks at times. It also has a evolution that increases the power of your BEs, you know the thingies that go boom and kill bad guys? If you warp something inside singularity twice, you get double detonations assuming the proper evos on Singularity.dor77 wrote...

Singularity has an AREA EFFECT which allows multiple BE's with ONE cast of SHOCKWAVE! Unshielded float in the air. Shockwave also goes thru walls. Prime, then go around wall, cast shockwave, BE's. WARP DONT GO THRU WALLS!

In this case I can't see any great disadvantage is speccing one without Warp other than missing out on one of the best debuff powers in the game.
I take it that you are aware of the Warp- incendiary combo

Shockwave is sadly underrated. But, yes you've got a good point; warp on this character is largely redundant. Ever since singularity was buffed; singularity and shockwave are the way to go!
Never underestimate the stagger effect from shockwave (can often be a life-saver) and singularity is more powerful these days and does work to drain barriers and prime BEs.
It's a powerhouse to be sure.

One benefit of warp I'm not seeing in this thread is that it allows you to prime and detonate long range explosions, whereas shockwave has a very limited range.
