I feel like I should be impressed but sadly I'm not, and it has mostly to do with how long it took to complete those solos. Unless it was with no rockets used or something like that?

Giant in over 60 minutes with the GI PPR? That was the time I got with my Harrier on that map when I solo'd Platinum like a year ago when Platinum was first introduced into the game.

I would have thought that a year later someone who has been a Spectre for such a long time would do much better. That's all and you can't say I'm wrong about it.

I'm not impressed and I should expect better from a BSN regular and Spectre member who has been here since Platinum was first released. It's still a good accomplishment regardless but the elite status that you guys have put on yourselfs make people like me expect more from you than from a player who is new to this game and manage to solo Platinum for the first time.

They look pretty good to me.  My gold solos started on a Tuesday and ended on a Friday.

i am at a loss of words..... if thats how you truly feel then i wont knock your "honesty" but he just ripped off 4 solos and i for one am proud of his achievemants.

How long have you been playing this game and how long have you been a Spectre? You see, those two criterias are what makes it impressive or not to me. If Usain Bolt would run 100 meters in 11-12 seconds it wouldn't be impressive at all even though it is still a really nice time for the average person right?

Usain Dumdum can cause the outer layer of an asteroid to vaporize in a picosecond.

But something must have been inside it... something inactive in the cold. The heat of my blast might have triggered something or woken something up.

After I had hit, spots of light and heat appeared all over the thin shell still covering it, evaporating the gases.

What lay underneath looked like some sort of rocky growth... a deformed rock pitted by scores of micrometeorite scars. I think something even older might have been inside that.

It started rotating - faster and faster as we watched it. After a second it started spraying fire - thermal projectiles that melted our armor like wax. We were caught completely by surprise.

Before we could counter-attack, it fled at an incredible speed.

We couldn't catch it, but we could follow its hyperspace wake.

We followed its trail as far as we could, heading away from the galactic core. When it finally led beyond the edge of our galaxy, we abandoned our efforts.

Anything that wants to commit suicide in that great void is not worth our trouble trying to catch.

That's the only story I have for now. I'll tell you some more stuff later, if we get the chance.

nope we are discussing it. basically cuz of his time, and kits used you think he is a scrub compared to what your opinion of a spectre should be.

You're telling me that members of the Spectre group are not supposed to be good at individual gameplay in this game? Isn't it a motto that says "Spectres work alone" thus that should be key?

Maybe I just have the wrong impression of the group but I thought for sure that members of that group could solo Platinum with most classes and do it in a time that is much less than what most players could.

My opinion is based from what I've seen on this forum, so if my opinion is wrong then you can't really blame me for it but instead you should blame the source, namely yourselves. If my opinion is wrong then let me know how and why so that I can get a more real sense about it.

Ya-dee-blah-dee-blah.  Guess I'll just break these all down...

I was initially just going for 10 Waves Survived so I was overly cautious.  After wave six I figured might as well try for flawless since I hadn't used any D-pad consumables yet so I played a little more cautiously.  Alas... wave eight... two Primes... that went out the window.

I've only made serious attempts to solo Platinum this last weekend.  Any other time before would just be as a "f*ck it" thing to kill some time waiting for friends, and I'd rock something silly like a turian Soldier with a Tempest.  So in a way this is new to me.

I've only been in Spectre since March.  A lot of people who were in at the time, including several who vouched for my candidacy, had been in it way longer.  Those same people are still in.  Only about ten other members have been inducted since then.  And I wasn't inducted for soloing capabilities or anything like that.

The only thing impressive about any of these was how I didn't rip my own hair out.  The Juggy Stunnerdome was nothing short of god awful, and the Harrier volus was almost as bad.  That many on-host Phantoms in one sitting was just plain aggravating.

I guess it's a good thing I'm not looking for anyone's approval, least of all yours.

Looks like that covers everything.

You're confusing an in-game single player line with the ideals of a multiplayer group, and that's all that needs to be said about that.

Fair enough.

Have to say though that my first try to solo Platinum a year ago ended up with a time of 60 minutes and 10 waves survived, today I do the same thing in half that time. But I know what you mean, when it is the first time that you try to go for 10 waves survived you play a bit too cautious only because you are not used to it.

Keep it up and you'll get there in no time at all buddy! Gold Spectre or not!
