I think he meant "rogue" in the sense that he wanted a tal'vasoth party member instead of a qunari, not in the sense of the class.

The Iron Bull might start out as an adversary but he'll probably end up as an agent or a companion, " There's a Qunari we created and showed off who we'll see and spend time with in some fashion." only 3 companions are confirmed and we won't get final confirmation until early next year so we have to wait until then.

How do we know the Gray Warden fellow is a warrior, though? He could be a rogue as well?

I think Cullen and Cassandra cover too much of the same ground to make sense as both being companions. Unless we get a big twist concerning their personalities.

Because in one of the old trailers and the concept art he's been shown as a warrior with S&S.

I don't think rogues can use shields

I had a rogue Warden who used a shield.

But I agree it's unlikely that Rogues in DAI will be permitted shields.

I think we will see more differentiation between seekers and Templars in DAI.  And perspective wise, there should be a large difference.  While I loved the character of the Lord Seeker in Asunder, I took issue to a degree with him just being a Super Templar.  The seekers are more than that and I believe the persectives of Cullen and Cassandra would be quite different regarding magic, the chantry, and other things.

Plus, I don't think Cassandra was ever a Templar.  The lord seeker was and that significanly impacted him.

We really need more than one healer companion, especially since healers will be so much more important. I don't want to feel compelled to take a companion I don't like (Anders) because I don't want to deal with the hassle of not having a healer. Hopefully all mages will have good healing abilities.

Warriors - Cassandra, Cullen, Grey Warden Dude, Iron Bull
Rogues - Sera, Varric, Cole
Mages - Vivienne, Dorian

They don't want more than 2 mage companion since a full mage party would be too OP. Cole might be a DLC, but either way if there is a Day 1 DLC it will be a rogue.

I think Cole is definitely in at least as a DLC companion. I wonder if tyere may be some either/or companions like Disciple/Handmaiden. Like Grey Warden Guy OR a talking darkspawn.

I'm probably going to anger a few fangirls by saying this, but I don't believe Cullen is a companion. He has not appeared in any concept art that I'm aware of, was not in the leaked survey, and has not appeared in any of the gameplay vids. He also is a very similar character to Cassandra, and since she is a confirmed companion, I find his inclusion very unlikely. He would almost be redundant.

Well, you could make an argument that that's our mysterious mage companion. I mean, he's got the super fluffy Tevinter robes and everything.

Though I agree, Cullen doesn't seem likely (nor do I want him).

Cullens had some concept art released, fits the an Npc who was in orgins is getting the Isabella treatment since they've been expanding his role and like Isabella someone might've seen depth and wanted to flush him, fits the IInquisitors companion are of high ranks in Thedas.


As for if I want him to be a companion, I don't really care either way.

Have they said that? I mean, I agree a 4 mage party would be very powerful, but honestly why would Bioware care if the some players used a powerful party setup to breeze through. Most players focus on characters rather than power anyway considering it's an RPG.

They have a companion from Dragon Age 2, so hope they bring in someone from Dragon Age: Origins. Could be Cullen.
