At the end if you allow Jowan to escape he comes back at a later time protecting frighten villages from a horde of Darkspawn.

Yeah hes such a big bad blood magic that needed to be made tranquil. Comes to show you that the Chantry is full of ****, and that blood mages can be good people.

Isn't this cut from the game?

No. Jowan's story arc hit its end. There's nothing more there.

How do you know that his story ends? Did he die? Did the developers mention it?

Jowan clearly used Blood Magic to clone himself.

No it's an actual quest if you let him escape from Redcliffe dungeon. Jowans Intention

Him helping those villagers was cut from the game and use debug mode to open it. Stop using cut content to justify things. It's not the first time you did it.

Did he die?

Well, he seems both pretty accepting of his fate if that happens and it would be pretty cheap just to shoehorn him into another story after his arc ended rather nicely.

Really, I think after DA2 we are all sick of pointless cameos

The location for this quest does not appear on the World Map when the
quest is received. The quest can therefore only be completed on the PC
using the debug console as follows:

Sorry. But this is uncanon since it can't be triggered without using cheats.

I could see an opening for a Murder of Crows/Finding Nathanial if you let him run, but maybe not as a companion.

Really? Then how come Bioware didn't release a Patch to fix this "cut" to disable it all together? I get this quest all the time from the Chantry board. If Bioware didn't disable this quest all together then it's still canon.

Its not canon unless its part of the released game

It can't be accessed at all without using the console to unlock it and while its an interesting quest, it can't be considered "canon" until Bioware patches it to actually work.

I personally see it as Jowan trying to make up for his mistakes. Which is admirable, but still preconditions that his actions were mistakes.

It can't be accessed at all without using the console to unlock it. Its bugged and inaccessible, and while its an interesting quest, it can't be considered "canon" until Bioware patches it to actually work.

Please provide me a link to the developers post indicating that it isn't canon and I will accept it as non canon.

Its generally common sense that if something isn't in the game, or is in the game and isn't accessible by normal means, then it isn't canon.

See: The cut newscasts in Mass Effect 2.

The fact that they didn't give a squat about it through a patch means it's not canon.

I don't care what goes on in Mass Effect because I haven't yet played the game.

You don't necessarily have to play the games to get my point. There were many cut newscasts, codex entries, and even character dialog on the disk. None of this turned out to be canon because of the fact it wasn't in the actual game by normal means.

This s a common occurance in videogames.

I went through allot of effort to make sure he survived my profile. And then we someone who might be him in the dragon age comic. I'd be disappointed if he wasn't in inquisition.

No. Hopefully the templars executed him.

The bad points for Jowan; he lied, put lilly and the warden at great risk, tried emotional blackmail on the warden into helping him, used blood magic when desperate, poisoned Arl Eamon and set in motion of a series of events for Redcliff. Good points for Jowan; he's in love with Lilly, feels guilty of what has happened and is willing to face punishment and refuses to escape at one point.

I would LOVE to see Jowan return.  I'd also be happy to see Lily again, find out what happened to her after she was sent to Aeonar.  We hear so much about that prison that I expect we'll see it at some point anyway.  Why not in Inquisition?

Agree that cut content isn't canon.
More interested in the Templar's prison his girlfriend was sent to.
