Not a single thing in this post is true. Especially the part where you talk about Garrus and Tali acting like actual people. That's laughable.

You might find it laughable but it's absolutely true. As stated by the writers themselves. I'm paraphrasing here but it was something like "The reason Tali and Garrus became love interests, even though it wasn't our intention to begin with, is that they acted like people and that made people want to get to know them better." They got a lot of feedback to that effect and that is why those characters are now LI's. So yeah, you might not like the characters, but it seems that most people did.

Thankfully, I have the suicide mission in which I can kill them.

Or in Tali's case, watch her take a swan dive.

Yeah.

I think it's funny how Fan Girl #128 and Turian Batman are people. People don't just blindly follow and believe everything you tell them.  Not any people that deserve a place on the Normandy. And considering that most of the writers thought that ME3 was some form of artistic integrity, you aren't really helping your argument by saying that.

Because Ash is nothing but a wannabe Miranda in ME3 , simple as that. I'm surprised you didn't figure this yourself so far.

If she had any shred of originality or even if she had kept her old character and wits everything would be just fine. But seeing as Bioware pushed everything about her towards the oh' so loved Miranda's style with her looks , body and all , she is not just a stand alone character who transposed from a previous game anymore. Due to this exact reason , even people like me who saved her in ME1 regretted their decision in ME3. At least Kaidan remains the same and does not try to copy another character in ME.

The Mass Effect sales numbers seem to remain roughly in the same range.. I think they knew they'd keep the same basic fanbase. And maybe by looking at statistics from ME2, Garrus was a no brainer with most of that fanbase. Tali was iffy, I think, but Weekes successfully persuaded them to get her on board (so the story goes). I wish he had pushed for his own original characters (Jack and Miranda.. although I think Mac worked on Miranda too), but apparently, he actually hates Jack.

I'm glad Miranda was not brought back.

Jack is very tempting, but I like her current role too much to mess with it.

I'd pick Samara.

i think a lot of non miranda lovers (and actually a lot of pro miranda players) fail to realize is why they are attracted (or unattracted) to miranda in the first place...miranda is a strong willed woman who has control over her own life. thats appealing to a lot of people. i see most pro mirandas in their own leadership position, they usually disdain "hangers-on" type women or "damsels in distress". i also see miranda haters or people who just dont like her seem to love the opposite, like tali or liara.

experience and stability can be sexy for some and scary for others. it usually boils down to how much control you have over your life, your educational/mental capacity and your personality type.

OP asked the question and those are both valid answers. Its only a play on words that make them sound like opposites, they're actually part of the same problem. A better way of expressing it is "Ashley is xenophobic and inhumane".

On the flipside  this is why people like tali and garrus so much more. They act like actual people.

I doubt them acting like people is what made players like them more. These are two characters who are always good to the pc, never question him/her, never argue, totally devoted and ready to follow the pc anywhere and everywhere. Plus Garrus got that sexy voice. I think those are the real reasons they became so popular.

Right, so the argument about the geth in ME1, the chance of losing Tali's loyalty by doing something wrong, and the subsequent loyalty confrontation with Legion just never happened, I presume?

Also, you can argue with Garrus about methods of justice a fair bit.

I think the only downside about Garrus' popularity is it obscured the tension between humans and turians. I would have liked it being a slower, but steady alliance, culminating into something like Garrus' friendship. It all kind of gets ignored and your main interaction with Turians is filtered through Garrus and Shepard. All the while, the Batarians sort of become the only antagonistic race. They're basically punching bags in ME2.

Crank up ME3, and she'll suddenly change her mind.

Also, you can argue with Garrus about methods of justice a fair bit.

And then he'll change them to agree with your view.

Irrelevant even if true: the statement made earlier is that she never questions or argues with Shepard, and that is not the case.

And then he'll change them to agree with your view.

Only for Sidonis personally.

Arguments she never wins, changes her mind on later, or steps back and put it all in Shepard's hands.  It's not like you can suddenly make Ash stop believing in God or something.

You lose Tali's loyalty by handing over the evidence against her father, that's the only time she actually shows real conviction and yet she stills hangs around on the Normandy and potentially dies for Shepard. lol!

As for Garrus, I don't hate him but he's worst than Tali. Dude can't think for himself at all.

And you can do the same to Ashley's distrust of nonhumans, heavily Paragoning her.

Looks "in it to win it" to me.

(Edit) Haven't you ever heard of nanite infused hair-spray? Also, if her hair is too distracting enable her helmet.

That's a lot of the reason why I like Miranda, among other things. Ashley, despite what she might seem, doesn't strike me this way at all. She's a fringer. Yeah, she's got drive, but she just doesn't have the same kind of potential or status. To me, it seems she only makes a name for herself due to her attachment to Shepard.
