You know, it's just so funny how we have so many 'hardcore' Renegade players who just love their mantra of 'nothing matters except the war, nothing matters except the war, nothing matters except the war' and then totally forget about it for one of the most, if not they most, choice of the game.

Actually, that's a lie. It's really completely predictable and expected.

You get a Salarian fleet instead. With advanced technology that has a short-term edge over the Reapers. That's worth more to me than the Krogan, if I can't have both.

Plus, tricking the Krogan into helping you now without facing the consequences later is definitely preferable to curing them.

And anywho, I'm not a harcore Renegade player. I'm pretty neutral.

I'm really stuck on the genophage issue. I end up curing it only with Wrex and Eve alive, any other combo and I sabotage

Even with Wrex and Eve, I have no confidence in the Krogan, period. Really, my friendship with Wrex and Eve is the only thing that kept me from leaving their race to rot.

No. Wrong. Mordin very clearly, intentionally, and explicitly addresses it as 'population control' as a contrary to the popular belief that it was a sterility plague. The fact that most people consider it a sterility plague is completely acknowledged. It's no more a retcon than the doctor from Leviathan speculating on the Rachni.

Yes... and that was in ME2. Even news announcements in ME1 described it as a sterility plague. Ipso facto, retcon.

Also, ME1 states that the Saren's lab is an installation to cure the genophage, whereas in ME2, it's referred to as a cloning facility.

I'm actually going to side with David on this one. ME1 did in fact refer to it as a serility plauge but Mordin pointing out how that's a common misconception isn't unsupported. Wrex himself states that every Krogan has it but also points out that the genophage makes extremely difficult breeding hard but not impossible, he contributes to biggest factor to the deteriation of the Krogan speices to their as to then inability to adjust their culture. "The Genophage infected us but it's not what's killing us." While not explicitly stated it is heavily implied by the informatin Wrex gives you that while the genophage does have a significant impact on the population, sterility plague is a popular exageration.

You want to argue retcons, Deinon? Let's argue in a place you won't get thumbs up simply for repeating as many vaguely 'bad writing' narrative terms and references to 'the COD crowd' you know of, as is very sadly the case here.

Here's the page. You argue your point successfully, it goes up. Easy as pie. I would just suggest you open a discussion page for the topic.

David, did you just slap Deinon with a TVTropes glove and challenge him to a duel?

While I don't disagree with you on the retcon issue at hand David, linking to TV tropes and stating that it's not listed as an example is a ****** poor argument, TV tropes is not by any means infallible nor meticulous in vetting it's examples.

In general, not always. However, when two people disagree and the issue is brought to close attention, it absolutely is.

In any case, the page isn't here as evidence. Only as an inviation to argue in a less biased environment.

Not sure why you're advocating TV Tropes so positively, even they loathe you and everything you stand for.

Less biased according to whom? Is there some sort of internet standard or are you stating that based on personal experiance with the amount of disagreement you've personally had there? It's a very subjective impression so you saying it's less biased doesn't automatically make it true.

Sounds more like a Tumblr thing, to be honest.

They'd definitely get a ... uh, response.

If there's any other website that discusses fiction as a whole with many contributors and welcomes this sort of argument, I'd be happy to participate.

Maybe after lunch. I'd have to create an account anyway. Begs the question of if I care enough to begin with - and given how little solid information we have on the subject I have difficulty seeing how either side can conclusively prove anything.
