Replaying I came up with the renegade dialogue in the debriefing for Grunt's recruitment mission
Miranda is worried the Krogan might get lose, Shepard suggests they vent the hold, Miranda counters with "what if there are crew in the hold" and the "replacable" option Shepard asks Edi for the number of crew which apparently is 24, then he smiles and shrugs.
I wonder if I get it. The implication seems to be that Shepard couldn't care less whether a crewman is killed or not, because s/he has others and can get more and Miranda's concern over it is just amusing.
I mean If Shepard wanted to dismiss security concerns renegade-like he could just have said something about unfortunate, but risks are part of the job description etc but laughing the concern away? That seems just silly psycopathy even by renegade standards.

Shepard asks how many seconds to vent the hold, not how many crew would be lost.
Regardless, BW really does a poor job on figuring out what Renegade is.

Yes but after that he asks about the crew complement
Select "He gets out, we vent the hold."
Shepard: EDI, how quickly can the cargo hold be vented to space if there is an issue?
EDI: Twenty eight seconds, Shepard.
Miranda: And if anyone else is in the hold at the time?
Select "Replaceable."
Shepard: EDI, How many other crew are onboard the Normandy?
EDI: Twenty-four permanent crew, Shepard.
After which Shepard shrugs and smiles.
I just don't get why renegade Shepard would find the death of crew members amusing and dismiss concerns for them in this manner, or is it some kind of joke making light of the concern I'm missing?

Guess I didn't pick replaceable, just "he gets out." Replaceable crosses the line for any Shepard I can imagine, at least under those circumstances.

Shep is just being a troll on Miranda's worrying. Shep doesn't actually plan on venting the hold with crew inside, it's just that sweet, sweet ME2 renegade swagger that is almost non existent in ME3.

The point being that odds on a crew member being spaced is so remote that her worry is overly fussy or?
I still don't get why Mirandas concern in Shepard's mind would merit trolling.

Casualties are not a concern for the renegade apparently.
Renegade really comes off as a sociopath much more commonly throughout all 3 games than a "victory at all costs" or "ends justify the means" type of character.

It's pretty clear to me that it's simply some dark humour, the grin Shep has saying that line makes it pretty obvious. Miranda grunt/sighs in disgust. Funny scene, that's all.
