If vampires ever appear in the series I hope they are integrated into the existing lore (hunger demon abominations), and more like the vampires from medieval folklore. Rather than charming and handsome/beautiful creatures that live in castles, they should be monstrous grotesques who prowl the wilds and are forced to live in sewers in urban settings.

They should be quite a bit different from the vampires people are used to from recent movies or games like Skyrim.

Probably more like Anne Rice's vampires.
They shouldn't be possessed by demons or have anything to do with demons now, although they may have originated through demons.

I don't think we need vampires. They wouldn't really fit anywhere, and would just be insane blood mages if anything, which we already have plenty of.

I wouldn't mind seeing werewolves return because they are already established, and I guess Nevarra has the whole Mummy thing going on.

AFAIK the "fanged skeletons" are the closest there are to vampires in the setting. Corpses possessed by hunger demons.
http://dragonage.wik...entry:_Skeleton

"A "fanged skeleton" is a skeleton possessed by a hunger demon. These skeletons devour whatever life they encounter and often possess the ability to drain life energy and mana from their victims."

Definitely closer to Nosferatu than Ed Cullen, which is A-OK with me.

Why Blood Mages need to bite peoples neck to suck blood if they can suck peoples blood 10 feet away?

Legacy of Kain Vampires actually didn't bite necks in the beginning, they cast a spell or used a item like gout to suck all your blood out of a open wound, usually made by the spell or item and yeah they did this from distance.

Maybe, but they just turn into literal bears.

I mean bona fide werebears. Like a werewolf. But a bear.

Werebears might be too Skyrim-y. I mean sure, they got werewolves too, but f***ing everything's got werewolves, so they can hardly claim to have gotten there first.

They never let you become one in Skyrim though, without mods. :(

They had wereboars in daggerfall, though.

Dragon Age has such a strong lore and so much that has not been explored. there is already enough materials and games including vampires. there is no good reason based in lore to put vampires in to Dragon Age Inquisition.give me more Tivinter, and Antiva before adding vampires.

I just wondering what other kind of monster there could be in this IP since we have werewolves in origins    How  do you think they're made Vampire could be a strong blood Mage ps sorry if was already a thread I'm just in a halloweenie mood right now

The lore already has vamps, of a sort.  Hunger demons that possess corpses, in other words: they're said to sometimes be called vampires.  I prefer this method, really, of DA-ifying classic monsters rather than inserting overused monster tropes.  You could technically consider blood mages

We already have darkspawn and dragons, and, yes, werewolves. I really don't see the need for more monsters.

Ya I agree but I meant as like the first would probably be a really syrong blood Mage possessed

I really don't like this idea of equating blood mages with vampires.  I don't see the connection between a person using blood in magic and drinking blood for sustenance, anymore than I would in calling a plebotomist a vampire because they draw blood for testing.

We already darkspawn as an integral part of the setting, the way they're wrapped up in the dominant mythology of the universe, so I don't see the need to populate it with more monsters just for the sake of having more things to kill.  I find the human conflicts much more interesting.

Honestly, Dragon Age's bestiary is a touch small. That added to the monotony of DA2; not only were all the caverns recycled, but you were seeing the same mobs of giant spiders and shades over and over again. The only unique monster DA2 introduced was the Profane, and you only saw them in one part of the game.

We don't need a Dungeons and Dragons-sized bestiary - there's so many monsters in D&D you might never see more than a third of them during a typical campaign - but it can't hurt to have a few more options. Vampires already have an offhand mention in the lore, so why not include them?

I think The Elder Scrolls series have had were-pretty-much-anything.
