I think as a writer, you'd be stupid NOT to make Samara a LI. She's a justicar that has given up all earthly posessions in the pursuit of justice and is on (what looks to be) a revenge mission for something tragic that happened in her past. She's the classic case of damaged goods, that's romance gold for a writer.
That's kind of precisely why I don't want her to be a love interest. It really has been done before. However, I am certain that whichever way they decide to go with her, she'll be one of the most interesting characters in the game. I look forward to meeting her. And of course, the fact that it's been done before doesn't mean it can't be done better. Still, I'm a sceptic by nature.

Cougars don't fall in love boy, they turn little boys like Shepard into men.
I'm no boy. I'm a girl, and so is my Shep. But your point is a valid one. I see what you mean.

On an unrelated note, this could be a more interesting F/F option. Liara never really did it for me, so I always ended up going for Kaidan. While Liara was certainly endearing enough (from time to time she was heartbreakingly cute), she just wasn't quite interesting enough for me to take the time to romance her properly more than once.
Samara seems to be a very interesting character. If she
is a romance option, the time may have finally come for my FemShep to broaden her romantic horizon.
Still, I think that it would be somehow more enjoyable to get to know Samara without getting past the "sexual tension" first. Since she seems to be so complex, I think I would prefer to have my PC befriend her without necesarily having something else in mind. From what I've observed, it tends to be easier for people to open up to someone with whom they are physically intimate, and I suppose that I'm hoping that Samara will not be romanceable because I don't want it to be easy to earn her trust. Things tend to seem more precious when you've actually been forced to work for them, no?

I'm really more interested in Samara's personality than in her boobs (though I will not deny that they are nice boobs).
