Hehe, doubt it. Pretty sure Bioware oversaw what was going to be shown and approved it. I'm 99% sure of that.

Then, let me catch my breath so I can

SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

LOL, well I don't want to rain in on your party missy, but don't take my word as truth hehe! I'm just going by my gut feeling, almost positive about it anyway. We'll see! Actually I'm going to try and find the strategy guide a few days before the game comes out to confirm! :D

Unfortunately she is. If you watched the G4 video, you've seen this.

Sad face.

I don't see that as inevitable, actually. Both Tali and Samara showed up in that video, and if I remember correctly, we've been told that there will be three love interests for each gender. Samara, Tali, Suze, Miranda = 4 love interests. That's one too much. And aren't SuZe and Miranda already sort of confirmed? Or am I mistaken? Either way, that seems to suggest to me that only one of the two (Tali or Samara) will be romanceable. Which one it is still remains to be seen.

Or did I perhaps miss something?

The developers lied to us or used word tricks? SHOCK AND AWE. :innocent:

Chris said 3 "if he remembered correctly"  I'm assuming their is gonna be 4 for each with Samara being the either or option.

Well, to each's own, if she is a LI (I'm 90% sure she is) then just don't romance her.

But the fact that she is one colours my perspective of her. It's like, even though I don't romance Ashley in the original game, it doesn't bother me that she's a potential love interest. I can see it. It makes sense to me. It doesn't appeal to me, so I don't follow it, but it doesn't affect my perception of the character, because either way she and Shepard are on the same playing field emotionally. They're about the same age, they're both about as mature as one another, even if one is the other's commanding officer.

The same logic could be applied to once again a m/m LI as I could say that wouldn't mesh with my idea of what Shepard is, but I really wouldn't care if there was one, ME is about having a unique experiance and playing your own game, making your own choices and befriending/romancing who you want. (90% of my playthroughs I have no LI, it just didn't gel with how I saw Shep.)

Shepard is the player character, though. He's a lot more flexible. There's a lot more room for different interpretations.

Now, if Samara and Shepard have some sort of bizarre Milf, the Reader-esque relationship going on in the game, that won't affect my perspective of the character. But I have a feeling that's not going to be the case.

I'm almost positive there will be more than 3 LIs per gender. One is when Casey said that, he said afterwards "If I can count correctly!" and then said "there will be a lot of surprises."

To me that indicates he didn't really mean only 3, but more. He's the game director, obviously he would know how many LIs there are, so I think he was only teasing the number and there's more. Second, the Dutch magazine earlier that had a paragraph about Samara and said she is a romance option.

Third is this G4TV video. Sure it's not proof, but it's heavily implied, along with Tali of course. I'm willing to bet they're both LIs.

I really don't get why old asari have to show off their breasts. Benezia? And now Samara? Hello? Have you women ever heard of covering up? And isn't Samara a justicar and thus refuses to have children? Shouldn't that mean that she'll go out of her way to AVOID attracting sexual attention rather than garner more of it by spilling her breats everywhere?
I'm hoping I'll have the option to ask her this in-game.

Ermm...since when does sex automatically = having children? Maybe you missed the part in ME1 where Liara specifically said Asari can choose if they want to become pregnant or not. Not those exact words, but it's what she said.

She dresses to attract mates, regardless. Unless she feels like having random sex just because or just airing her chest every now and again. If she did her sex thing with another asari, it could still produce an offspring and that might break the vow anyway if the other decides to carry the spawn.
Anyway, this is just me being morbidly opposed to busty blue wenches. I almost puked the first time I saw Samara, and that's saying something. The only other times I had that reaction to a video game was the ending of FEAR 2. Ugh...Image IPB

maybe you can only screw 3 of them in any one playthrough...?

Or your old LI still counts?

well how do you explain Liara then?  She's 106 in ME, an archiologist and socially awkward to the point of being creepy (to me).  None of that colored MY Liara though, she was just the nerdy girl in the corner for my shep.  I really don't see the big deal here, just suspend belief of her being a LI, we have to take the universe with a grain of salt anyway, I'm just not really understanding peoples aversion to other's preferences...

I just told you Asari can CHOOSE if they want to have a child or not. Meaning they won't accidentally become pregnant and have a child, during the union, they can mentally/physically choose that if they wish to.

So what if the other asari (not Samara) CHOOSES to have a child. What then?
Sex doesn't work for asari the same way it does for humans. If I recall right, one of the devs said that asari reproduce via parthenogenesis. That's a process usually done by insects that produces straight clones of the mother. We don't know if both asari have to CHOOSE to have a child or if only one CHOOSING can suffice. I'm assuming the latter and you're assuming the former. Simple as that.
Anyway, this is starting to become a nitpicky sort of argument. Let's both back off. Truce.Image IPB

Perhaps Samara has a "No Asari" policy, only alien species for her...

Anyway we'll all see in 6 days + some change if she is a LI

I don't understand your point about Liara. She's at about the same stage of life as Shepard is, by Asari standards. Samara would have to be considerably older. Plus it's the whole sex thing. It just makes her TOO vulnerable as a character. And her character doesn't change based on our perceptions. They're constants. No matter what, Liara is a 106 socially awkward archeologist. She can't suddenly be a motherly figure for Shepard, because that's not how her character is portrayed no matter what happens.

Now, there are ways that she could be both a love interest, and a bad-ass, impartial vigilante... but I don't see Bioware writing her that way.

EDIT: Er... well, okay, actually that'll happen no matter what.

Okay, lemme put it this way. I can't see Bioware making her both a love interest for Shepard, and a "The Boss"-esque character. That's really the only way I can put it.

My point was she didn't really mesh with shepard's personallity if you look at the two from afar.  And actually by Asari standards she's way younger than Shepard.  I thought romancing her was comparable to this www.youtube.com/watch

Samara can at least relate to experiances shepard has had, Liara was so naive to most things it was laughable.

I think those ****** are just there to tease us. Tali, Miranda, and Subject Zero are more probable romances.
