I don't really see why someone who shoots people for a living should have the body of someone who practises martial arts for a living.

Because the series has many scenes where Shepard is punching people out.

A scrawnier body type would have been cool if that didn't happen. Assuming for a moment that the next game is going to have similar scenes (likely), the female version should actually look like a fighter.

This is the millitary. Just wanted to point that out.

Biotics in particular should probably be pretty scrawny.

This is the millitary. And biotics take the same amount of work as the normal action within itself.

Femsehsp body type is not admitted into the military, just letting you know. There's a reason why.

That was a bad cutscene.

Speaking of which, the Kasumi Jedi acrobatics from the Stolen Memory DLC were also hilariously bad.

Because the military has fitness standards? Although admittedly that might change in the ME future if Soldiers don't have to carry around their equipment. Doesn't matter how good a shot Shepard is, he's not going to get into the N7 program if he can't pass selection.

I don't get how a swan dive is funny at all... let alone Tali's.

Femshep would not be able to carry things like the CAIN or other stuff that require alot of strength. For example Shepard punches a yagh, in the face and it knocks him back a bit. This makes sense for male Shepard because he looks the part, IT DOES not make sense for femshep because she is way to skinny and shows hardly any muscle. This is a issue. Also the Vega fight scene has already been beaten to death.

Femshep is skinny, she's not unfit.

Femshep has barley any muscle, AT ALL. Her punches would not even daze a person.

You don't have to fit to do damage someone. You just have to know how to use your body.

I'd agree that some of the things Shepard does after they become a cybernetic zombie doesn't fit FemShep's physique. They don't fit human physiques.

But I don't see Shepard's physique stopping them from doing anything in ME1.

edit:  We've also got genetic modification to think of, too.  Standard in Alliance soldiers.  And potentially assistance from the armour, though I'm not sure that's standard.

I generally reconcile this by reminding myself that the character design of the Mass Effect universe is largely cartoonish aside from the fact that BioWare typically just uses the same basic models across the entire cast with only a few exceptions. It's just the faces that don't reflect it as well, like, say, Pixar would.

I don't see FemShep's body type as being unrealistic for the military. Male soldiers and Marines don't all look like MMA fighters either. In fact one of the biggest heroes in the United States Marine Corps (the recipient of two separate Medals of Honor, the Navy Cross, the Medaille Militaire and two Croix de Guerre) was only about 5'6 (168 cm) and 130 lbs (59 kg).

I think the issue with FemShep's body is that she potentially spends much of the series punching people out, including in Mass Effect 1, prior to all those fancy cybernetic implants. After all no one complains about Liara's body type, even though like FemShep she has a body type that is more fashion model than fighter. The key difference is that you don't see Liara taking people out with her fists. When she is shown fighting people in cutscenes it is exlusively with biotics.

Please enlighten me about this new branch of physics where it's not the mass, velocity or force that determines the outcome but whether a body is "muscle". Do you want to go back to the aether theory whilst we are at it?

Cool explanation. See, it's the same with Liara. Letting any squadmate get fried by Harby is sad. Letting Harby turn her into calamari fritti however is hilarious:lol:

Or shooting phantom Jack on Chronos;)

Still funny though, especially her doing a sexy cartwheel and getting her head blown off in the process.

She let herself go real bad. My Javelin was doing her a favor.

Choosing Miranda as the biotic specialist in the suicide mission and taking Jack and anyone except Thane with you.
I chuckled a little at how fitting it was.

Tali's swan dive itself is hilarious though. Its just not about the character dying, as I don't hate any of the squadmates. Its just the overly dramatic way in which she does the whole Titanic pose while falling backwards, with Shepard's slow-mo running and 'Meh' reaction. It was hilariously corny.

I was stunned the first time I saw it.. but probably wasn't paying enough attention to Tali's dive. It was my first ME3 playthrough, and didn't realize that would happen. Couldn't believe seeing the whole quarian fleet go down in flames.
