I was gonna write a longer than usual post, but then I remember Dean's post that explains it rather nicely.

Dean_the_Young wrote...
But Jack... I don't think I've done Grissom
Academy with Jack since the first two times. I'll even skip it and get
Phantom!Jack instead, the difference is so glaring. With Jack around the
entire mission becomes a love letter to how awesome and badass a
teacher she is, with her students being a fawning audience whose
adoration she eats up. The students are more like groupies than actual
people, and Jack's presentation is so different from where she leaves
off from ME2 if you didn't romance her that I'm hard pressed to take her
seriously. Finish that with how fighting Cerberus becomes more like
'hey, let's kick these weakling's ass!' and the entire mission loses
whatever drama it had.

Without her, though... I love Grissom
Academy. It goes from a ******-fest to a harrowing story of a group of
talented but inexperienced students being hounded by a well-organized,
well-prepared force that they are nowhere near ready to deal with. Out
of their depth by far, they have to organize, they have to stand up
regardless, and Shepard takes a mentor role of guiding these young
adults to being rise to the challenge of the war. Jason Prangley, a
non-entity cheerleader if Jack is alive, steps up and leads his group,
and with Shepard offering one of the least heard awesome lines of the
series: 'leaders don't guess,' a line in context that prods Prangley to
assume confidence and gives hope to the students. Here is a leader on
the rise, one recognized by Cerberus as a highest priority target among
the students, and someone who is clearly rising to a serious challenge.

Prangley
dies, unfortunately: shot after saving the last of the students, the
cost of not having Jack. It's sad, it disappointing, and it's such a
waste to see such potential simply lost in this war... and it has far,
far more effect on me than Jack ever did. And it's all lost, all the
development and individuality submerged into a fawning nobody, if Jack
lives.

So... no apologies. My story is better without Jack.

Jack romancer and i actually agree with this, i just wish they gave Jack a different story in ME3 cuz her becoming a teacher is...dumb.

How is it "goofy"? All I see is her letting herself fall to her death...

I'll agree on that if you took the Renegade path with her and Aresh. But like many things ME3, it was railroaded to favor Paragon acts (not excusing that btw. I wish it was more dynamic than that).

It worked for me because I didn't see a reason to kill Aresh. The same reason I don't kill Toombs in ME1. I wanted to move from the past. As for being a teacher in general, she's humanity's most talented biotic. And Ascension is dedicated to fostering humanity's talents (and not in the Cerberus fashion). I think she's perfect for it. Besides, there are few side stories in ME3 where humans get to stand out in a positive way without seeming like jerks. Everything's black or white: Cerberus one extreme, alien cooperation the other. Programs like Ascension are a good middle ground where humanity is autonomous but just focused on self-improvement. And Jack fits this political middle ground well.

Pose on the edge and fall like that? That's goofy.

This might sound kind of obvious but.... the kid in the dreams. His running animation is just so bad it's funny.

Also funny that he just constantly vanishes In plain site of Shepard. Bioware couldn't even finish that!

Well technically depending on where you move around in the sequence, the kid is supposed to disappear behind the trees for sake of surreality.

I don't get how a swan dive is funny at all... let alone Tali's.

Because it's Tali.

Cool explanation. See, it's the same with Liara. Letting any squadmate get fried by Harby is sad. Letting Harby turn her into calamari fritti however is hilarious:lol:

Or shooting phantom Jack on Chronos;)

You see, it's about Tali being spineless, it's in her character. It kind of becomes a joke on her expense as a character. A lot of movies got this kind of tragicomical characters, she just happens to be one of them.

We all know what she should have done and how she would have died if she hadn't been spineless, but it's in character and makes sense with who she's been throughout the whole series.

Unintentional laughs by MassaFX:

Femshep checking out Kaidan's rear end in ME3 after she agrees to let him back in the Normandy's crew.

A little snippet of conversation between femshep and kaidan during the poker game with James on the Normandy. Goes something like... Kaidan: "You should have woken me up" hinting that femshep and Kaidan are sleeping together before Citadel DLC. Which makes sense. Good for them!

Kasumi when she says "How did you know?" after faking her obviously staged death on the Citadel.

the poor alliance soldier on the Citadel that begs for her daughter to be sent to Thessia for her protection and safety. Yah. That made me laugh knowing what happens later...

I hooted when everyone just left Udina's body lying there. As if he was a nobody. (Rightfully done, btw).

I snickered when James repeats a conversation with Shepard over the Councils decision not to help. You first talk to him on the Citadel and he says the same thing as when you see him in the cargo bay on the Normandy. ~ "So they decided not to help"

Traynor's reaction in the shower scene when my femshep doesn't join her. I guess she thought she was all that and a bag of chips. No honey, you are NOT my femshep's type.

I didn't know how to react to the whole rush the beam scene, but I did laugh with MauraderShields popping out and shooting Shepard like that.

Liara and Vasir alternately popping out of cover to fire a couple of pathetic shots at each other.

LOLOLOLOLOL

That was a bad cutscene.

Speaking of which, the Kasumi Jedi acrobatics from the Stolen Memory DLC were also hilariously bad.

yeah but you  gotta love how shep nods in approval when she follows that up with the spiderman landing.

20% of the series dialogues are just cheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeesy.

But that is the secret ingredient (well, not anymore) that makes Mass Effect series so Mass Effec'ty.

Awe look, Shepard is giving Tali a rock to symbolize she has a home. Oh wait, he gave her nothing, way to be a jerk Shep.

The rock has a tactical cloak.

No its just the rare invisible rock, only foun on Rannoch. It is a worthy weapon, for no one will see the invisible rock coming.

* Thane gets impaled by Leng *

Moments larer, Shepard to Thane: " Are you alright? " (or something like that)

Really, Shepard, you had to ask Thane if he's alright after he's clearly been impaled? I knew I wasn't supposed to laugh but I did, just a short laugh following by " 'O_o' ok that was weird ". I'd would have preferred if Shepard used the omni-tool to try to contact C-Sec, or yelled for a medic even by mere reflex, instead of going cold-mode on Thane and just asking him " Are you okay? ". It actually reminds me (just now) about that scene in Lion King when Simba asks his obviously-dead father  - who just went splat from a couple of dozen meters of steep gorge wall falling - if he's alright.

In ME2 Kelly gives an analogy about her viewpoint on aliens.
Kelly: "My sister started a dog shelter, but she loves cats too!"

I cringed and laughed so hard, like wtf... WHO WROTE THIS!?

I know most of this thread seems to have been busy with the typical "Your favourite character's death was hilarious" "No, yours was!" type arguments, but seriously, why has nobody mentioned Jacob's romance scene yet?

Jacob's "romance scene" was far more hilarious than the joke ones of Saints 4.

That whole romance arc was hilarious.
