Hi all, I downloaded this package to check it out, and probably use it since the pictures look cool, and I also enjoyed the clothes in any module I played.
What I did, was downloading the files, and droping them to a folder in my campaign folder. The clothes and armors where visible as blueprints, but when I was equiping one on an NPC the armor texture was also the body texture, and the head a different. Did I do something wrong? Or is there a solution to this I don't get?

Andy.

I assume you're talking about the appearance in the toolset, not in the game.

With that assumption, first make sure the NPC doesn't have "Never Show Armor" in its properties.Second, you can either change the NPC's basic look in the "Armor Set" window, or equip a proper suit in the "Inventory" window, or both.  Depending on which approach you take, the appearance(s) will differ (note that the Armor Set may never quite match up your head and your body colors).  Third, the true appearance will be seen in the "Preview" window; but sometimes it won't update in any kind of rational time immediately.  I sometimes have to select a different creature, view it, then go back to the one I'm working on.

Fourth, I can't really glean what you're describing so I'm offering guesses based on my own experience.  If these suggestions don't work, maybe there is something else going on - you should post a picture in that case.

Maybe I didn't explain it very well. Yes, I was talking about the view in the toolset. Screenshots follow.

The color is like that so that the "problem" is clearly visible :).

In the first one, she has an outfit on her chest spot in the inventory, and everything seems to be working fine.

In this one, it happened after I selected another creature, and then her again.

Also, the neck. Is that normal, and does it show like that in game? Or something was installed wrong?
P.S the preview updated immediately, but got weird after another creature was selected.

It is also visible in the first picture, that her preview is normal but not the creature. But I guess the preview is what is real... and not what she seems like it placed on the ground right?

Alright.

Many of the Aleane's (and others) dresses work off the Jester's nude texture for the parts that show skin. In the game, those areas will be tinted with the character's skin color (TINT_HEAD I believe). That usually doesn't show up in the Armor Set; in fact, changes you make to the skin areas in Armor Set which DO show up there will be ignored in game (possibly not even saved in your uti/utc file, I think).

Your first example seems about right. The second one is hard to tell because of the offbeat skin tone, but it may also be okay. Set up a small area with just her in it, load it up and see.

As for the neck ... can't really avoid that; the body and head use different coloring algorithms and no one was ever able to come up with a perfect match. The mismatch is somewhat noticeable for all characters, but the more subdued your skin, the less noticeable (sometimes only during closeup cutscenes). It is really bad with some of the expansion races (yuan-ti, genasi, etc.) which use an even more different approach to coloring the head. The developers "dealt with*" it by blotting out all the skin areas on the two or three standard armors that showed skin (warlock armor, for example).

* "punted" that is

If you want to get creative, you could take a cloak that hides the neck and lop off most of it to leave a bandana. It's better if you shorten the actual model and not just make a chunk of the texture invisible, since any spell effect (barkskin, etc.) will cover the whole model including the part that's not supposed to be there.

I will try them later in game to see how they look. But it is possible that one of these packs seems strange in toolset but normal in game? Because I had the same problem with always summer.
Also, could it a problem that I don't have jester's in my campaign but these haks use it? Or is it implemented in the models anyways?

They mainly took the Jester's textures as a layer and added the dress portions over them, so I don't see why you would need it ...

... that said, I've always had the Jester's onboard as well, so I can't really discount it.

Also, I'm not sure it is a problem for you.  You'll have to see it ingame.  As I said, the game uses different algorithms for head vs. body and I don't think the toolset incorporates them at all times;  some of the custom stuff will never look the same in the toolset as ingame (e.g. a couple characters I have laying around to try out things on have naked hands and feet, and they always display with the default color and not the characters' actual skin color, but they look fine in the game).

So I run the test, with a creature like the second picture (Messed up), and in game it looks fine.

I just have to use the models that don't show much neck I think, because I am not sure how capable I am to do something about it and fix it :). Thanks for the info.

Maybe I should get the jester's as well just to have it why not. Uhm, your necks were like that even with the jester's on board though. As you said, nothing really to do about it.

Be sure to get the fully updated, non-replacing version (unless you want to re-enact the Era of Naked Neverwinter Wizards).
