The Piranha turns harvesters into paste so quickly that it caused me to run into that bug on Tuchanka (mission where you find the primarch's son) where killing a certain one would cause the rest of the spawns to never show up thus rendering the mission impossible.

So basically I think it was the game's way of telling me that the gun is way too good

Not sure which Harvester you are referring to. I was only able to Charge one Harvester. Good thing too or I would have died. I Charged a Canibal not realizing there was a Harvester behind it so after coming out of Charge it hit me with a full salvo. I was down to health-gate and felt my best option was to try charging the Harvester to get my barrier back up. I was lucky I was able to charge it or I would have croaked for sure. This was the Harvester where there are something like three Canibals and if you don't kill it quick enough it will fly around the corner and drop a Marauder and some more Canibals and start shooting at you again. The map there is basically L shaped with the Harvester initially taking position at the junction of the vertical and horizontal segments, then flying around to the top of the L.

This raises a question: can a Harvester shoot you if you are standing a foot away from it? After I charged in I blasted it a couple of times but didn't take any return fire. Can you charge those Harvesters on Thessia? Should you?

BTW, I did use the Piranha.

And, yet again, I found something I had never seen before: a Reaper Blackstar.

Most of the time Harvesters are actually in unreachable locations.

I never tried charging the Harvester that is landed on the ground behind the couple of Cannibals on Turian Platoon, that's interesting to know.

Just did the Rachni mission and I am beginning to wonder if charging a Ravager is not such a good thing. I never knew about how poisonous they were before because I always killed them at range. But after killing one particular ravager, the last enemy on the map, I saw my health was still going down. So I looked up on the wiki and found that the yellow pool they leave is acid. Another problem is being instantly surrounded by swarmers which are also, apparently, acidic. The battle in the final hall was further complicated by the fact that my Nova was prematurely setting off the barrier switches meaning that rather than taking place in stages basically all the enemies we were going to face were on the map almost from the start. Because of that my team mates were badly out of position as one of the follow on waves emerged right on top of them.

I guess the best thing to do with a Ravager is charge in, kill it, and quickly find another target at some distance so you can get away from the acid and the swarmers in a hurry.

Found an interesting use for Nova: for gestation pods, run into the middle of them and as they start to glow red do a nova. It destroys all the pods and the swarmers at the same time. Too bad you have to listen to Hale shouting Hiyah! repeatedly.

Shoot the Ravager's sacks before you charge them.

And yes, activating the nodes before clearing the previous enemies makes that section harder.

Charge all the things, Vanguards are meant to do that.

He, he. I just started doing MP the other day and have been practicing with bronze solo challenges. I just took out an Atlas with a combination of Charge, back up, shoot a few times with a Scimitar, Charge again. (Asari Vanguard, nee Liara S'taloni, aka the Blue Rambo) I couldn't believe I survived that. Does that also work with a Banshee? They scare the crap out of me.

When Banshees glow, they grab you and kill you.

There are quite a few foes with instant kill moves. Phantoms do this aswell.

Scions do sync kills, too. With a very cool animation.
Scion, Brute < Atlas < Banshee, Phantom, Praetorian from what I can tell

I just found out about the Scion yesterday. Don't think I'll be charging them again any time soone. Brutes, OTOH, I think I can manage. I tend to do well with Atlases too. Only got sync killed once. Painful to watch!

I decided I don't like playing him because it seems to me like he's a sync kill magnet, so for the sake of my self-esteem, I'll probably never touch the kit again. For some reason, I have yet to run into any problems with scions.

The thing that made me rage the hardest was getting completely surrounded by Phantoms in the back room of Glacier today. My nightmares literally came true

If you blindly charge sync-kill units, then yes, he's a sync-kill magnet.  You either learn when it is and isn't safe to charge boss units, or you should simply avoid doind so altogether.
