Does N7 rank provide an accurate portrayal of skill?
"No", says the spammer of cat pics, "I never promoted on this platform".
"No", says the cat in the hat, "I mod a coalesced to victory instead".
"No", says the speed runner with armored compartments.
"Yes", says the conceited man with the maxed harrier who uses it on every kit.
The community rejected it due to disagreement, and as such was the bane of it, as well as the elitist fueled N7 matchmaking.
Do challenge points provide an accurate portrayal of skill?
"No", says the insane Scot who spams endless hordes of enemies, unfettered by outdated hardware.
"No", says the man who led his glorious campaign on the community and lost.
"No", says the PUG I last played with who insisted that a katana was better than a shuriken.
"Yes", says the player who's number one in the world.
The community rejected it once more, this time less harshly but just as bluntly.
And what of times promoted? Does it count as skill?
"[expletive] no", said the man who wielded the brawler vanguard off host versus banshee hordes.
"thundadome me 1v1", said another.
"Nope", said the massively effective one, "nope nope nope nope".
"Wat", said the BSN, unable to comprehend this.
"Yes", said the hosting PUG I played with.
Again, another failure in the search for the skill measurement needed to lay this to rest, a casualty of logic.
There was no choice but to reject these mediums in the search for skill.
Does speedrunning count as skill with armored compartments?
No.
Does having level 10 ultra-rares that one recommends in every build they post also count as skill despite the majority of player not having them and never will have them?
No.
I asked the soloers, the missile glitchers, the HLG, the PUGs, the Juggs, the thugs, the speedrunners, the eggs of the box. None could answer me as thoroughly as an idea that just came to me.
First, I though, let's make it a percent, an efficiency rating if you would. Not the truest skill rater, but something approaching it.
Then I made it...
A masterpiece:
(100(sqrt(challenge point total)/sqrt(N7 ranking total))(Time played in hours/games played in total))/4 =
Your percent efficiency
Note: Percent efficiency maxes out at 100. If you happen to have scored above that, treat it as a 100.
Note: Scaling changes made to account for high scoring people.
That is all.
