Of course she'll be back... she's swiftly becoming one of the most popular game characters of all time and Bioware would be insane to disappoint their fans by leaving her out.

And I've heard that the next game will be called Dragaon Age: Child Support Agency, where your PC gets hounded to the ends of Thedas by a shady government department intent of stripping you of your wordly possessions for the sake of a child you've never seen,
who was conceived during
a one-night stand with a woman who didn't love you and intended to leave!!!!Posted Image

WRONG!

She DID love you, as I remember very clearly the words "my love" in the end conversation you have with her before going to fort drakon.
And the part about she leaving you was part of her agenda the whole time, the part that she didn't had planned was falling in love with the PC.

My sentiments exactly.

For Bioware, Morrigan is the goose with the golden eggs right now. I'm dying to know what will happen next and I bet alot more people feel the same.

I'm still wearing my Morrigan ring.

Ok ... point taken. She may love you at the end.

But she'll still set the CSA on you when it dawns on her that being a single parent - especially of a baby with god-like needs - is hard work!

Seriously though... I see this going two ways. Either she becomes the villain of the sequel, who uses the god-child for some nafarious purpose, or she loses control of the being, and it's up to you both to sort it out - in which case we may actually see a more contrite, regretful Morri.....

I think we will end up playing as or alongside the God-baby in DAO2, even though in some cases the ritual doesn't happen, I'm sure bioware will figure out a way to pull it off.

If there was no Dark Ritual this time then Morrigan scoots off to Orlais.  I've heard there are plenty of Grey Wardens in Orlais. The witch just needs to bide her time till the next blight, she's bound to get lucky eventually.

Morrigan? Sure she will be back. Post-baby and right after the magical tummy tuck to regain her pre-demonic-child body. *nods* The marsh-witch has standards to maintain, after all...

No, she dies giving birth. Undone by her own ambition. BTW, it's a boy so her line ends and it looks like Alistair.

She does return but unfortunately, like all women, she has turned into her mother.

I hope to never see that winch again... I insulted her at every chance I got.

I was glad the game gave me the choice to call her a "****". :D

I figure we will see her in the future. She was sent to conceive a child with a warden—for the taint. I believe this because if you don't bed her she ends up in the royal court in Orlais and if you remember, there are other wardens there in Orlais. I believe she will see to it that she moves her way into getting what she wants. We know one thing for sure about Morrigan. She regards power above all else. I think we will see in the future that she has had a child by someone and whoever it is, it will most definitely be by a Grey Warden.

The possibilities are endless. I think we will see her again. Dragon Age wouldn't be the same without her.

Are the Orlesian Grey Wardens still in Orlais though? Won't they all be in Ferelden for Awakening?

Great mental image of Morrigan trekking to Orlais with a bun in the oven only to find that all the Grey Wardens are where she's just come from.

morrigan disapproves.

one thing to note about the ritual is that it is the kid of a warden. the warden who carries darkspawn taint in his blood, whether its the PC or Alistair, you would think thats definitely something thats able to be passed down through genes.

If she doesn't make another appearance, the spawn she is carrying most certainly will.

"Will the child be evil? What will become of it?"
Morrigan: "
Allow me to say that what I seek is the essence of the Old God that once was, and not the dark forces that corrupted it... Some things are worth preserving in this world. Make of that what you will."

"The child won't be hurt will it?"
Morrigan: "
I have no doubt he may. But he will not. It is all I ask for in return. Ignoring that after but one night it could barely be called a child... no, it will not be hurt. It will be changed."

Morrigan: "
The child will represent freedom for an ancient power, a chance to be reborn apart from the taint. Is that not reason enough to do it?
...This is what my mother intended when she sent me with you. She was the one who first gave me this ritual and told me of what I was meant to do.
...This does not surprise you does it? Did you not wonder why Flemeth saved your life, why she aided you? This is why.
What is important is that I am offering this to you now. It will work and it will save your life."

I believe Morrigan will reappear in Awakening.

Basically there's this Darkspawn who had business with the Old Gods as a villian, and Morrigan has a child with the soul of an Old God. Connected!

OMG I never ran across this conversation! It kind of makes sense; I had suspected something like that from the beginning. I still think at the end, at least for my character, I felt like Morrigan really did not want my character to die or be unhappy. I also don't think that Morrigan really has any desire to rule the world... she just wants to be left alone. I hope we do see more of her in later games. She was one of the most interesting characters, I think. :)

I wouldn't get my hopes up of meeting Morrigan in the expansion. The story takes place a few months after the end of the Blight and Morrigan was seen travelling thousands of miles away from Amaranthine(child or not). Not to mention that she may not have gotten her demon child in some endings - which means that the Architect-child connection can be easily dismissed.

I strongly feel that Morrigan's story needs a canon version some time in the future if it's going to be continued. A sequel perhaps.

The best we could hope for in the expansion is some mentions of her through dialogue/cameos.

I'm amazed more people haven't put 2 and 2 together.

Morrigan is a name for an old Irish war Goddess among other things. Additionally, several characters hint suspicions that Morrigan has an alternate motive towards your main character. Obviously of course that's having the OId God child, but what's got me curious is Flemeth and that personal plot.

Preserving and Old God is all well and good, but even that seems a bit too noble of a cause for Morrigan and Flemeth. Thinking on how the old hag reacted rather expectantly to my PC showing up. I'm of the inclination that Morrigan knew of Flemeth's intentions before she even set out on the journey with the Wardens.

"It is an old tale that Flemeth has heard many times, and even told."

This line in particular has me thinking that Morrigan actually has it in her to use the Old God child in the same manner Flemeth intended on using Morrigan, in order to become an goddess herself. To do so, of course, Morrigan would need to know the full details of the possession ritual, something she intended to find within the Black Grimore, but did not. Which lead her to having to have the PC face Flemeth herself and gain the full possession spell details from the true Grimore.

I wouldn't be surprised at all if Morrigan was seen in a future Dragon Age game as a goddess or dragon, much like her mother could have been.

I only hope that the developers keep her as more or less a protagonist, however. As devious and well thought out her intentions were, she's still got a soft spot with me.

That said, I've no doubts we'll see her again. I just hope they allow my PC from the first game to encounter her again.
