As someone who played both genders and both paths I can say that Mark Meer is vastly better than Jennifer Hale in Mass Effect, though it's pretty clear Mark Meer feels more comfortable doing the Renegade lines, while Hale feels more comfortable doing the Paragon lines. Most of Meer's Paragon lines sucked, and all of Hale's Renegade lines sucked terribly.

I actually tried a Maleshep once, but the voice turned me off terribly.

Unless you did an entire playthrough as maleShep your opinion is still invalid since you basically don't know what you're talking about.

You can come back and try again when you did 4 full playthroughs with both a paragon male, a renegade male, a paragon female and a renegade female Shepard.

I have done all of that.

Hale is still better.

I strongly dislike Jennifer Hale's VA in Mass Effect. I thought her voice for Femshep came off as too man-ish at times, and just way to clunky and unbelievable for others.

IMO, Meer is much better. His voice perfectly suits the way I play my Shepards, which is typically in a sardonic, sarcastic, and grim manner.

Ditto, Hale has a much better voice when it's gentle or soft. She doesn't do strong voices very well.

Well, I didn't like it. I wasn't impressed with her voice style. And it doesn't have to be man-ish to be military.

Except, that Shepard was created with a male in mind. They did spend money to get the likeness of a male model not a female one after all.

At she could've at least had more unique dialogue and interactions like the feMC of  Persona 3 to differentiate her more.
