Er, what should she be? I mean, Sheploo could just as easily be Femshep with a dick.Seboist wrote...

I strongly dislike Jennifer Hale's VA in Mass Effect. I thought her voice for Femshep came off as too man-ish at times, and just way to clunky and unbelievable for others.
IMO, Meer is much better. His voice perfectly suits the way I play my Shepards, which is typically in a sardonic, sarcastic, and grim manner.
Which is fitting, as femshep is just sheploo with boobs.
Except, that Shepard was created with a male in mind. They did spend money to get the likeness of a male model not a female one after all.
At she could've at least had more unique dialogue and interactions like the feMC of Persona 3 to differentiate her more.
To take a page out of Persona 3, some alternate character relationships, like femshep could be able to pursue a big sister/little sister type relationship with Tali and various other minor dialogue options with NPCs.

Can't you get that with Tali anyway? More or less. What other options would there be? I'm interested, but I haven't played Persona 3.To take a page out of Persona 3, some alternate character relationships, like femshep could be able to pursue a big sister/little sister type relationship with Tali and various other minor dialogue options with NPCs.

More money was probably spent on her, Hale is a much more wel known and thus more expensive VA and all that for less than 1 in 5 people having her as their main Shepard. The Mad Hanar wrote...

I don't think that there should be female characters in video games at all unless they are romance options. The Mad Hanar wrote...

Gonna have to try harder than that gaiz.

Gender roles either way, are pretty bad. So is hating someone because of their gender.

Nonsense! It invited all the feminists in to come and bludgeon us with sexism/misogyny allegations as well as ruthless and zealous support for the female PC in marketing.
On a less sardonic note, it did win the game some fema points. Whether or not those fema points are an asset or a liabilty is debatable. I say both. It gets us more absolutely ridiculous demands in the forum from complete nut jobs, but it keeps the "waah misogyny" bunch off Bioware's back for the most part. I wanted to puke at many of their hopelessly obtuse, oversensitive, and occasionally libellous attacks at GTA5.

FemShep is pretty fun to play sometimes, some of her dialogue is actually quite excellent. However, it often became, for me, moaning in ME2 and crying in ME3. I really couldn't tell what they were trying to do with her in the series.Volus Warlord wrote...

EA grossed over 200 million USD in the opening week, with ME3.
So 10-15% of people who played FemShep represent gross of 20-30 million USD.
That's a lot of earned revenue, despite your claims it's a waste.
And do note many people played both FemShep and ManShep, so percentage is skewed against FemShep to some extend.

I love Hale's work as Bastila, not so much Shepard.
Ditto, Hale has a much better voice when it's gentle or soft. She doesn't do strong voices very well.

Welcome to the age of the feminized hypersensitive male, where men capitulate everything that favors ourselves in order to increase and preserve female happiness. Let me qualify that statement by saying I dont intend to offend anyone, It is simply an observation. No doubt, Females are certainly deserving of representation. Maybe a "meaningful" death constitutes dying in someone's arm's. Im not sure if I'd consider any Bioware character as having an empty life however.

I dunno. Female characters are always welcome in my video-games, as long as they're sexy. I'm even willing to put up with a female protagonist if she has the bravado and sex appeal. Like (the old) Lara Croft (before she became whimpy).Br3ad wrote...
