Indeed, my good sir. Just the other day one of their ilk had the audacity to ask me for the time, but then i said "It seems you're long overdue for a bath, so see to it mongrel." <chuckles while readjusting monocle>Medhia Nox wrote...

Oh dear, such a falsehood. Unlike you creatures we're majorly capable of what you deny of us, but manners for a knife ear? <chuckles>maliluka wrote...

At best Isabela could be biracial.
But saying Dragon Age had black characters and using her as an example is a bit disingenous. She is far too European-looking.
Im not saying it, the lead writer is. And what's disingenuous is the fact that you think your some kind of encyclopedia on what black people look like, Black people (In America at least) look all kinds of different, you can't just generalize them with a set of features. What does a stereotypical white person look like?

I didn't say that all black people look a certain way. Obviously there are many people who would identify as black who have mixed ancestry, and are light complected or have some European features. What I did say was that Isabela predominantly looks European. And that's a fact.
Show a screenshot of Isabela to anyone person completely unfamiliar with Dragon Age and ask them to identify that character's ethnicity, and I guarantee you not a single person will say 'black' or 'African.' Thus a dev claiming that Dragon Age featured black characters in the past is a bit disingenuous. Without the equivalent of Twitter canon, no one would even know she was black.
For all your high horse ranting about racism in a subsequent post, that dev statement potentially raises troubling questions about why a black character (and LI) had to be given European features and a light skin tone. *If* the engine isn't to blame, then accusations that the dev team was at least guilty of eurocentrism might not be far off the mark.

Vivster is in DAI and is obviously not white.
Considering that people in the same race have different physical traits, there was no point in you saying this.David7204 wrote...
The fact that different races tend to have different physical traits other than skin tone is beyond debate.
Black people tend to have wiry hair, for example.
I'd say "Middle Eastern/North African," myself. What does that count as?Show a screenshot of Isabela to anyone person completely unfamiliar with Dragon Age and ask them to identify that character's ethnicity, and I guarantee you not a single person will say 'black' or 'African.' I agree, a game without inclusivity is as terrible as 2girls1cup.
