Hole... Eeeee... Frak.

So, this trailer had me more excited about the X-Men IP than I have been for a very long, ever moreso than First Class.

Set to be released on May 23 2014, this is another reason I'm just planning on being broke next summer.

The trailer looks decent enough. I take it they're trying to prevent a apocalyptic future via heading into the past(something X-men has definitely touched on before)? Didn't exactly blow me away, but it looks like a solid sequel.

Because X-Men movies are awesome and you just simply watch them. No need for publicity!

Kind of some weird editing in there but any trailer that uses both Journey to the Line and Adagio in D Minor from Sunshine gets a thumbs up in my book.

First Class was solid and if this can effectively retcon XMen 3 then we're good.

And this one promises Sentinels, so I'm board.

Yep. Sentinels, time travel and a (somewhat) coherent reason for the casts of both sets of movies to interact and be in the same movie. This has all kinds of thumbs up in my book.

I'm still not sure how to feel about the movie. X-Men as well as Wolverine were the only comics I regularly as a kid, but nowadays I can't connect to the comics at all.

I loved the first two movies when they were released, didn't like how they ended things in the third and was pretty much appalled by the first Wolverine solo movie.First Class was a big surprise for me, I liked it a lot more than I expected, mainly due to Fassbender, McAvoy and Bacon. Haven't seen The Wolverine yet. The trailer for DoFP left me... whelmed.

It's weird, I'm am big Hugh Jackman fan, and he looks more like Wolverine with each movie, but I'm kinda getting tired of seeing him play a huge part in every X-Men movie (except the amazing cameo in First Class). Ah, we'll see. Looks like a lot of DoFP is about the Xavier/Magneto dynamic, which is great.

Interesting trailer. Looks good, but I do have a couple of reservations.

I don't think you could get a better Wolverine than Jackman, but I'm tired of seeing him, it's Wolverine overkill at this point and most of the movies he has headlined have been fairly crap. He seems to be front and center again here.

Secondly, Ellen Page is in it. I cannot stand her.

Did I see Bishop?

Y U no like Ellen Page? :o

Well, you're in luck then, because I believe in the original DOFP comics it was her character who travelled to the past, not Wolverine. ^^

And yeah, Bishop's in this movie!

Damn! Its been a while since I've been hyped for something like this. Time travel can be a bit tricky though but I love seeing both x-casts involved. Ditto on Ellen page...throw her into a wormhole or sumsuch.

I haven't seen any of those movies so I'm in the dark. Trailer is interesting. (Though they stole their title from a Moody Blues Album.)

The origins movie X-men First Class is really good with a terrific cast.

I LOVED that trailer. Even if it still makes Wolverine out to be the messiah of mutants (with Xavier seemingly delegated to an apostle or something.)

Plus - one of my favorite characters from Marvel is in the trailer. Blink.

EDIT - Moody Blues "Days of Future Passed" does proceed the story this film is based on by over a decade, yes, but the movie title is really from the comic arc "Days of Future Past" from the 1980's Uncanny X-Men comic so...

the filmmakers aren't stealing it - Claremont likely did in the 80's, though.

For those of you that remember: The X-Men Animated series in the early-mid 90's covered this story arc ("Days of Future's Past") quite well. I'm very much hoping for a (somewhat) faithful recreation of that experience.

Yes, much better than any of the x-men movies they made.

The addition of Bishop is awesome though.  I bet it'll be good but not worth buying the DVD.

I have been screaming for Sentinels since the first X-Men movie came out. This is worrying because now my expectations are through the roof. Oh boy....

If it's at all half-way good, I'll probably suck up and buy it for the collection.

Because I'm old, and a total geek:  I have the original version of this storyline in mah comic book collection, one of my all time favorite arcs.

At this point, the Singer-spawned movies have retcon'd so much of the X-men lore that I've completely lost interest in them.

Not to mention how they've very poorly rendered my favourite characters, for the most part.

I did like the first movie, and was genuinely impressed with how they handled Wolverine (by far the most difficult character to cast.)

Tbh, even though Wolverine looks to be doing most of work by going back in time I doubt he'll get most of the focus

Which makes me ok with him playing a huge part in this movie

I have had the entire Chris Claremont-written run of the X-men up to issue # 250 (plus a few here and there after.) Of all the storylines, it was one of my favourites, too.

About half the ones that I had were the "Classic X-men" reprints, with all the added John Bolton artwork, which was just amazing.

Consider me interested if David Hayter does the screenplay again like he did for the first 2 movies.
