Oh yeah; J. Whedon is in a lot of trouble

Why, is it because of Quicksilver? I'll be honest, I wasn't expecting much from Quicksilver in Days of Future Past but everyone ( including myself ) agrees that he was the highlight of the film, he was used in a very creative manner. Joss Whedon and the producers of The Flash TV series could learn a lot from how Brian Singer used his speedster.

I liked it, but I thought its climax was a bit lacking. It really needed a Professor X speech to counter the Brotherhood of Mutants speech.

Magneto addressed the world and declared war. There was no real counterbalancing "we should all live together message". There were a lot of rich character moments between Xavier and Mystique that verged on that, but there was no message to humanity as a whole. That was missing from the movie.

Excellent movie! Would say it is easily one of the best Marvel movies up to date! Though a few questions were left unanswered and bothered me quite a bit...

Haven't seen the movie yet,

But, Post-Credits scene of X3.

He transferred his mind to a comatose body when he died.

There is an after the credits scene in X-Men the Last Stand that vaguely answers your first question ( well it tells us he is alive, I can't remember if it explains why ).

As for your last question, I think they are setting something up for the next X-Men movie.

As for the Adamantium thing, we'll to be honest I've been scratching my head about that as well. Logan's Adamantium claws were broken in The Wolverine so I was surprised when future Wolverine still had Adamantium claws. My only guess is that Brian Singer did not do his homework and researched The Wolverine and as such made a continuity error.

In X3 an earlier scene the body was shown in a classroom scene, and Xavier mentioned it might be possible to transfer consciousness into it since it's basically a blank slate.

X3 post credit? I must have missed that one with Xavier. I only recall there being Magneto still having his powers, but didn't know there was another one with Xavier. Good to know.

Yeah, Mystique getting his body was an obvious nod at next Xmen movie, but felt a bit out of place having Mystique acquire the body. Though guess it will be explained later on.

It's most likely the case Bryan Singer missed that part, yeah. Bit sloppy but I can get over it. That future doesn't exist after all.

^ OF COURSE the filmmakers didn't "miss" it. The adamantium claws and Raven helping Logan escape Stryker will certainly be explained or at least some exposition will be provided in the next flick. As I said before, this leaves only ONE urgent question in my mind-- WHO can be a convincing Apocalypse?!?

Release speculations!!

But that made no sense. Her message was "Mutants are unstoppable, but we'll allow you to exist on a whim".

So Captain America 2014 and X-Men 2014. Great movies to add to must watch list.

They're great comic book movie, rather than just great movies based on comic books (unlike the Dark Knight).

I love Chris Nolan as much anyone, but can we PLEASE collectively get over "the Dark Knight"?! It was damn good, but far from perfect.

It's a useful benchmark, though, because his Batman isn't really the comic book Batman. The movie ended up being good, but it wasn't really a comic book movie. Days of Future Past was a comic book movie that was well-done.

Will be seeing it soon, can't wait for it. I've heard nothing but positive reviews which is good. Loved X-man 1,2 and first class.

Same here. Gonna see the movie tomorrow. As far as I'm concerned, I'll only have X-Men 1, 2, First Class, and Days of Future Past as part of my collection. Last Stand had story and character development issues, Origins: Wolverine was a mess, and while The Wolverine wasn't bad, I can do with or without the movie.

I need to pick up the Blu-ray/DVD combo pack of the original X-Men film, as I only have a VHS copy from back when the film was released in 2000. I also need to pick up a DVD copy of First Class. I have the Blu-ray, but the film didn't have a combo pack when it first came out, so I figured I would get the DVD for my parents or for the friends I know who haven't seen it yet. It's very cheap now, so I don't mind.

The best thing about "the Wolverine" is that it's a Samurai film first, and a comic-book/superhero movie second. Yes some of the fight scenes are a little cheesy. Yes the Viper is slightly operatic and her robo-pollywogs' abilities were too effective. Yes the Japanese stereotypes were everywhere.

However, these didn't detract from the narrative for me. This film is all about Logan becoming a leader and using his regret and pain to give him strength, which is something most of us (who have lived long enough) can relate to. The character will HOPEFULLY be called upon in a leadership role again in "X-men: Apocalypse", perhaps even forming his own team of young mutants...?

I did like the story for The Wolverine, just a few issues. I'll watch it again when I have the chance.

@Galactic: It has been confirmed that the original cast (Stewart, McKellan, Berry, Janssen, Marsden) is done. The next film; X-men: Apocalypse will star the 1st class actors. I.e. Fassbender, MacAvoy and unfortunately Jen Lawrence.

Here's hoping Logan & Quicksilver will join them
