I am still very, VERY bitter about his "appearance" in Rise of the Silver Surfer...
One day...
I swear they did that on purpose to make us forget about the Last Stand ![]()

It just makes me want the Fantastic Four film rights to go to Marvel Studios even more...
...and I'm fine with 20th Century Fox having the X-Men film rights after the success of First Class and now this movie.
Just saw X-Men: Days of Future Past last night.
The best thing about Days of Future Past is that.... [SPOILER] it erased X-Men: The Last Stand from the timeline, wiped the atrocity from existence. So the events of X3 has never happened. That ending itself is worth the price of admission.
Overall, I would say it is one of the top three superheroes movies I've seen, and most reviewers on YouTube agreed with me. (You can check out the YouTube reviews yourself.)
X-Men?
Meh. The moves seem to be getting progressively worse...and the comics were/are meh to begin with.
It doesn't even do a good job with it's message of tolerance, given all the crap mutants do/cause there.
Also, Wolverine sucks. Big time.

I feel that Wolverine is mostly a messenger and observer in Days of Future Past. He certainly does not save everyone at the end. It's someone else who saved the world.
Also, Mystique's role and importance has been very significantly enhanced from the previous movies. I think it mostly has to do with Jennifer Lawrence. 20th Century Fox got lucky and signed on Jennifer Lawrence to play Mystique role before she got really big. So now Fox is using Jennifer Lawrence as much as possible. Which I've heard actually makes the new Mystique much closer to the comic books and cartoon series, i.e., she will lead her own group of mutants instead of following Magneto or Professor X.

@Lotion: Please- Try again
Also Lotion hates everything good.
I'm not sure it was the best thing about it (for me, the set up for Apocalypse alone was worth the price of admission—it just happened to be accompanied by a really good movie), but I admit it felt a bit like a weight was lifted when I got to the ending and saw how skillfully Bryan was able to circumvent the whole of X3.The best thing about Days of Future Past is that.... Picked up the original X-Men film on Blu-ray! Watched it on my PS3 earlier today. For some reason, it had the bar fight between Logan and Sabretooth from Origins: Wolverine as part of the special features. *shudder*I also got $8.00 credit for Days of Future Past, so I might go see the movie again! Especially after a marathon of X1, X2, and First Class.
Really? I would never have pegged you as an X-Men fan.
*has Xavier and Magneto avatar at the moment, first name is Xavier* Are you pulling my strings, Jimmy?

My real issue with the X-Men movies is that the continuity is borked to all hell. Is Origins still considered part of the movie canon or has that been struck out? That will clean up the two Emma Frosts.

SpoilerEven without it, how freakin' old is Cyclops supposed to be? Even with erasing X3 from the timeline, you still have two Moiras. Did Xavier and Magneto meet as children or in their thirties? Did Magneto create his helmet or did he just jack it from Shaw? Why don't the Sentinels exist in the original X-Men movies?
Watch the ending to Future Past on where the timeline for the movies now stand.
Me? Never!

Also the Emma Frost in Wolverine is not the real Emma Frost, this has been confirmed. It's a different character. There is issues in Wolverine, Last stand and Origins thoguh, and consdering Bryan didn't have anything to do with the thosem ovies and ocnsdering the ending for FP, that's why it's best to just ignore them and enjoy First CLass, X-Man, X2 and Future past.

The b0rked continuity just proves how faithful X-men is to the comic. A linear, sensible and comprehensible timeline with no retconned deaths makes no sense for the X-Men.

I've read from articles that Fox wants (and is going) to make a similar continuation universe as with the Marvel, and in order to do so decided to erase the previous films in a very beautiful way rather than just retcon them (which they first intended with First Class). It's a shame that all the "older" X-men actors will not be in any future movies apparently (except Hugh Jackman who have another Wolverine movie slated for a 2017 release). While I would have loved to see more Parick Stewart and the rest of the cast, it did end in a beautiful way and considering it ended in the same year in the future as in the beginning of DoFP, I can accept that ending and let younger actors portray what happened during those years. Except for someone playing Wolverine. Hugh Jackman is and always will be the Wolverine ![]()
We may be seeing Jean and Scott as teenagers in the 80's in Apocalypse.
