Saw it just now.

Aside from the Projectionist keeping his light on, the theatre lights turning on and off,

AND SOME DUMB PIECE OF F**K DOING MATH PROBLEMS ON HIS PHONE DURING THE MOVIE (I am not kidding)

 

I quite liked it. It erased X3 from existence which is a major plus. Though I'm tempted to ask how The Wolverine played out in the new timeline.

One more thing.

While Quicksilver was pretty awesome.

The character that stuck out in my mind was Blink.

Her ability to make portals allowed some pretty cool stuff in the Flash forwards. (Especially since my background knowledge of her is being your portal system in X-men Legends 2)

And she's hot.

She went out like a champ in her "death" when everything went to hell, in fact I loved that scene because despite it being sad(yes these deaths are overridden later but it was still sad to see some of my fav mutants get killed in such a brutal way) it showed that even though they all knew it was a hopeless fight, they continued to fight on, buying time for so the past could be rewriten. The climax was very powerful, it had emotion that Last Stand should have had but lacked

Both her and Bishop despite not having alot of scenes or marketing did better then half the big name mutants in their scenes.

Yeah, Warpath did pretty good too.
Colossus got rekted in every scene. I loled. Then was horrified, then loled again

Alot of scenes were cut, thats why I can't wait till directors cut.

Rouges entire storyline was cut to keep the stakes raised.
Hopefully this time I won't screw up getting the extended cut like I did with The Wolverine.
Standard cuts ok, but I hear the extended uncut version is alot better.

My favorite Blink moment was when she used Colossus like a "Portal cube" and he destroyed one of the Sentinels... too bad there were about 40 to take its place.

Well this is the best Superhero film released this year if thats any help it is also leagues better then first class.

Really? That's odd. I mean... it seems that based on the events of how the movie ended, the series is moving to the 70's/80's, not the future (where Blink would be old enough to fight). I wonder what her role would be?

Don't question it Jimmy. Just enjoy she's getting more opportunities to think with portals. The companion cube would be proud!

Personally not much, I liked it. But it's very obvious the film was made on a lower budget than the other movies.

It had a bigger or equal  budget than The Wolverine, Origins: Wolverine, Xmen, X2.

 

Only Last Stand topped it.

Agreed. The not only had the "period" decor and costumes to put in place, but also Russian palaces, CIA headquarters and a tropical/battleship/nuclear stand off to stage. In addition to special effects (which are normally huge on a super hero movie). I didn't feel the film gave me a vibe of low budget.

(Mostly talking about Beasts make-up, wasn't as good as X3s, and if there's something nice I'll say about X3 was that Kelsey Grammer was a perfect Choice)
Also Kevin Bacon was just kinda a meh villain. Other than that yeah, I liked First Class (though I'm most partial to The Wolverine). The performances were good, it was well directed. Had great music.
