Just watching this film again with my son... reminded what an achievement it is. Singer has bridged the two X-men story lines AND given us a chance to see AGE of APOCALYPSE on the big screen!

She's not intended to be "smoking" hot. She's intended to be attractive, but still be relatable. Some of those "super hotties" tend to be not relatable at all or even intimidating:
For example:
She is hot but looks like an insufferable biatch, a character you would leave in a dumpster was she not attractive. Jen is supposed to be a character women can relate to and want to emulate, as well as not terrible on the masculine eye-candy scale. Basically an attempt to get the best of both worlds. I think she does reasonably well at that.
Jen Lawrence in contrast looks strong, but inviting and kind:reasonably high on the attractive scale without being isolating or elistist:

Just to let you know, I don't find the first girl attractive. Well, Kinda. Models like Candice Swanepoel are hell lot attractive. Though sexual attractiveness isn't my kind of thing. But i don't find Jen to be either pretty or sexy. Also she does not strike me as a good mystique, Just a meh mystique.

Sexually attractive women? Candice Swanepoel is fine. Scarlett Johansson is not as fine as candice because she's a bit fat, But she still has some nice balloons. Jessica Chastain is also notable. Megan Fox can sometimes be attractive. Jessica Alba and Jessica Biel are also notable. Can't think of anyone else right now.
Though I don't really focus on the body. In fact, I prefer thin bodies for the long term material over curvy bodies. And i don't usually put superficial standards in my calculations, But If I'm going to have to select my favorite women based on superficial standards, I'd definitely prefer pretty women over sexy women. For example, Emma Watson, Emma Stone, Jessica Chastain, Angelina Jolie, Natalie Portman and Elizabeth Olsen. Can't think of more right now.

Well, Let's see what will Marvel pull off in AoU first.
You know, technically, when you go into the future, and there's stuff that's happening now, it's the present of the future; then, when you go backwards in the future, it's the past of the future. So that is what makes the "Future Past" part of the title kind of make sense. Lol. 
A2 is going to have problems getting a more entertaining Quicksilver, that's for true.
More like they're going to have problems not making him overpowered. If Xavier brought him along in DOFP the movie would literally be over in seconds.
