More like they're going to have problems not making him overpowered. If Xavier brought him along in DOFP the movie would literally be over in seconds.

I always thought doing a character with super speed but NOT super fast reflexes/senses would be interesting. I mean, being able to so fast you can dodge bullets wouldn't be all that overpowered if you couldn't see the bullets coming at you in super slow motion.

I'd imagine a superhero with only speed and no reflex would quickly kill themselves by running into a wall or make a turn too late. If they were going fast enough a flying bug/rock would probably shoot through their skull.

True. Maybe they could have it work like in Looney Tunes, where they need to wind up and do a windmill with their legs for a few seconds before they start going. That would be comical.

There's enough mind boggling physics as it is. How does he prevent whiplash (wasn't a good idea to bring that up in the movie), how does his shoe hold apart/provide enough grip to provide that kind of acceleration, how does he get enough calories for that kind of energy expenditure. He and Cyclops (who basically punches people with his eyes) really should have necks as thick as their torsos. That or change his optic beams to some kind of heat or cutting laser. The goggles are a nice touch though.

I remember someone saying experiencing time as slowly as quicksilver would make you quickly go insane due to the extreme time gap between you and everyone else. It's going to be bloody difficult to even understand what anyone is saying. Unless he can switch it on and off or something

It didn't seem like he was switching it off, really, since he was playing Pong at super fast speeds while talking with everyone.

Of course, "it's just a movie" comes into play, for sure.

^ He cannot "switch it on" or off. In my mind, it is like meditation or an adrenaline rush. He can focus and move at this incredible speed, but not indefinitely. It seems easy because he has been doing it pretty regularly since he was a child. His mutation simply speeds up his metabolism first, and then his perception and finally his physical speed. To not have control of all these aspects of his power would result in catastrophe. Certainly it is as dangerous to him as martial arts are to a Shaolin Monk. The key is discipline and control, knowing his limits.

Quicksilver's scene was cool!  :)

He also could have ended more or less every conflict in every X-Men movie by himself. Especially the movie he's introduced in and then ignored for no reason other than that he would make half of the movie's plot obsolote if anyone tried to convince him to do other things aside from being promoted from petty criminal to serious criminal.

We could just use this incredibly powerful mutant to help us achieve our goal of stopping a pro-mutant radical from assassinating someone. Instead we use him to break free the mutant supremacist criminal who radicalized her in the first place and who, to the best of our knowledge, assassinated JFK. Because that guy will surely be of great help to us. We do this for reasons.

Yeah, his single mum raised him really well that he's such a sweet lad who hasn't abused his powers (much). Should've have made him the villain :P

Quicksilver's Mom to give Erik a stern scolding when they randomly encounter each other in Apocalypse. You heard it here first! Lol.

Well, apparently Oscar Isaac is set to play Apocalypse in XM:DoFP sequel.

Interesting choice.

Never seen any of his work. Hopefully he works out and can hold his own against Fassbender and McAvoy.

It´s not like he´ll look much like himself after the make-up. Wonder if he´s still Raven´s son. I hope they explain how much of the old timeline still happenned, X-Men 1 seems to, as Rogue had the white hair at the end of DoFP. The next Wolverine movie should be interesting too, as the poor guy has several decades of "wrong" memories now.

I'm glad the cartoons I watched in the 90's are finally getting justice done to them in with advanced technology we have in movies. Anything is possible. It's amazing actually to see something come to life like that.
