Ellen Page stars as Catherine 'Kitty' Page who the last time checked ( I stopped reading comic books in 2008 so I could be a bit behind on how various characters have had thier powers ret-conned ) only had the ability to phase through solid matter, ie. walk through walls.

The original Days of Future past graphic novel involved Rogue ( Anna Paquin's character ) travelling back in time. I think they went with Wolverine because of his long life span, I obviously have not seen the movie yet but I don't think Wolverine actually travels back in time in this movie, just his consciousness and as such he is the most obvious choice because he is alive when first class takes place and alive in the present and he hasn't aged at all in that time so technically he won't intentionally be breaking any time travel laws.

Of course his popularity ( or perceived popularity ) probably was a huge reason why they went with him, not that I mind, Wolverine is my second favourite X-Man.

Obviously, I know jack about X-men, I only know about film. What I do know is that apparently in the original comic of which the story is based her shifting abilities allowed for time travel, and she was the one chosen to go back in time and warn the younger selfs of an iminent future of death for all mutants. Wolverine essentially sends his memories, conciousness and whatever, back into his older self for reasons that you pointed out. That alone is just a different word for time travel, it's been used before in order to provide exposition on why time-travel is even possible (the concept of a younger version of yourself having to be present in order for it to work). The funny part about it is that most of the films that actually revolved around Hugh Jackman playing Hugh Jackman starring as Hugh Jackman were all awful. I don't like the notion that someone feels arrogant enough to tell me whom I should like because Logan is definitely not interesting at all in the films. Wolverine can't carry a film by himself just as much as the character Joey from Friends couldn't carry a sitcom. I severely dislike spin-offs like that.

Fact: Everybody loves Wolverine!

That was his very first movie and the clip that you have there is just his likeness ( it is all CGI ), it's not actually him, can't you see how bad the CGI is. The only acting he did in that movie was in the very first 10 to 15 minutes and in all fairness the acting wasn't all that great either although it is much better than that thing in that clip you showed, like all other wrestlers he initially struggled with over acting although by the time the Scorpion King had come out he had become a lot more comfortable in front of the camera. Giga Drill BREAKER is right, that was a very long time ago and he has improved a lot since then

I know. The comment was supposed to be funny...

Sorry, can't do it. I refuse to watch any more X-men movies since they absolutely ruined what was supposed to be the Phoenix Saga.  If they are going to try to create a direct story from the comics, then they need to create the *direct* story and not deviate so much.

Actually I just realised I was wrong, it was in fact Kiity Pride ( not Rogue ) who went back in time in Days of Future past.

Christ, I'm forgetting my X-Men continuity which is sad since I was completely obsessed with the X-Men from the early 1990's to 2008 when I realised I could no longer afford my weekly comic book store addiction. I apologise for my incorrect previous post.

Well, it's not my place to say what's what with X-men given my overall knowledge doesn't span from beyond the films -- I only have knowledge cinema not comic books. I do admit that when you said it was Rogue, who would be sent back in time, I raised an eyebrow mostly because her role is extremely insignifigant in this film. She's pretty much been cut out of the film. ;)

According it IGN Channing Tatum has officially been cast as Gambit. Does this mean Gambit will be getting his own stand alone film or will he be appearing in X-Men: Apocalypse? I had trouble understanding the casting choice at first but after thinking about it for a while it is beginning to sound cool, I can seem him in the costume and I think he could pull it off.

Early Rotten Tomatoes critic reviews have been overly positive. We'll see how the general appeal will turn out once we get closer to release. And yes, very excited for this films. Been waiting for ages.

Finally got a chance to see it. Eirene pretty much sums up most if not all of my feelings about Days of Future Past.

Whoa. Just returned from the theater... "Days" blew me away! Best X-men movie easily, might be the best comic-book flick of all time. (IMHO)

Acting was great all around, ending was awesome (especially the Easter Egg ;P ) and the plot made sense, which is difficult for a time-travel story.

Fassbender & McAvoy absolutely stole the film despite Mystique being the pivotal character in many ways. I have only one question now: Who will Fox get to play "EN SABAH NUR"????

Great movie! I agree with those of you that say it's the best x men movie. This movie really did feel like a comic book movie, better yet an x men movie.
I can't post spoilers on here but I will say this. I am looking forward to the next installment.
