Thanks, I had forgotten about the Z key. (been away from NWN2 for a bit)
I had told Kim to "Stand your ground" back at the entrance door. & yet she was still talking to me as I found stuff, so I thought my game was bugged.

You can stick her in puppet mode ( character window ) and stealthy along with stand your ground that way she wont get too carried away blasting things.

Just don't forget to switch her back.

Happy travels.

I'd like some help with crafting. (I've never done it in any mod)
But it seems all the recipes in the books need some sort of essence (like you find in MotB)
But I'm in the Red tower & I haven't found any essences at this stage, do I have to create them myself somehow?

You give all the things like ogre heads and troll blood ( ingredients ) to Kim then use her pestle and mortar to change them into essences. Click it in her inventory then click the ingredient. Then put all the components that are required in the recipe on the workbench and fire a spell at it.

If you haven't got the pestle and mortar because you wondered what it was and sold it use the console to give yourself one by typing

giveitem mortar

I recommend making for yourself and the party some belts to help nabilities and some weapons with elemental damage ( perhaps a staff for yourself ).

I've just uploaded a version with a pestle and mortar in the inventory of the first workbench you come to in the forest so as not to confuse anybody else and give them a big hint.

I never bothered with the crafting and got through well enough.

Even in the OC and MotB you don't need to craft anything as there's plenty of decent stuff that either is dropped as loot or can be bought.

Each to their own though. :)

This is why I have never bothered before.
Usually you find key ingredients are only available so late in the game that by then you have enough money to buy the best gear.

But with Tsongo making a point of suggesting you utilize crafting when you get the chance, I thought he may have restricted available magical items.

I made myself a +6 wisdom amulet, so I'm happy, & a little wiser.

Edit:
I finished it & enjoyed it. Thanks Iveforgotmypassword.

As a general rule, I like to include a mortar and pestle in every alchemy workbench. The same goes for smith hammers in smithing workbenches.

Perhaps if you gave them special enhancements, people would be more willing to keep hold of them? You could easily create a light hammer or warhammer that has the same unique power as a smith hammer, that could also be used as a weapon when not crafting. Or add inventory-only special properties to a special mortar and pestle (a small skill bonus, saving throws v's poison or disease, etc).

In a module I'm working on, I have unique items such as the 'Hammer of the Weaponsmith' and the 'Tongs of the Armourer' that each grant a bonus in their particular crafting skill. Skill bonus properties tend to be relatively cheap.

Good idea about the inventory skill I might do that to the first one they come across and just stick a few extra craft alchemy points on it...

Or I could always curse it..

Has anybody got any ideas how you swap files on the Nexus because when I put the pestle and mortar I had to wipe out the old file ?

<picking his...>

Just an aside, I'm quite enjoying Bad Habits (though I've only got a couple hours under my black belt ;-)

Good one, Tsongo. :-)

Thank you but I think your monk is probably just warming up with a couple of stretching exercises at the moment.

Happy travels.

<ducking and dodging...>

In the assassin stronghold at the mo.
There have been minor spelling/grammar things, but no major bugs or unintended features :-)
I'm very happy with your pacing and story. I have only about 90 mins worth of battery for my "Me Time", so playing mods in those chunks with poor pacing or story is a short recipe for a long sleep :-P

Monks aren't my forte, but Luce Bree, er, Lucent Breeze has been in my company since the late '90s, so I'm not completely hopeless. And it's kind of fun to just relax and tank in combat :-)

I haven't got a clue where you are because there are quite a few assassin lairs around but that doesn't matter I'm just pleased to hear you're enjoying yourself.

Don't "tank" too much you'll make the real tank jealous when he turns up.

Never played as a monk ! They're my favourite so that's part of the reason why i made this, the module descripton will give you quite a lot of hints about what to do as will npc's in the module and I'd stick with a pure monk if I was you.

So here it is.. Good luck.

I always wanted to play one, I just never did, since at the last moment I was shifting to my favorite, Wizard :).But this time, pure Monk it is. Thanks, and I'm sure it's gonna be fun :).

You'll have a sorcerer join you as soon as you start the second module so if you feel the need to let off a few spells I'm sure she'll be happy to oblige.

Happy travels and I hope you enjoy yourself.

Lol, so I discovered :-)

I just waved at Big Blue, if that tells you :-)

Can't let them Swish bucklers, er, swash-belters, er, dudes get too uppity :-)

Aha so you're in the jungle, big blue wont seem so big soon but you can have a rematch later with his larger cousin if you choose too ( advisable ) and you should have the tank tank I was going on about with you now

Quite a few lots of 90 minutes battery time isn't it..

Anyway nice to hear you're still trudging along and don't despair but it'll all be pretty much downhill soon.. In a good way of course.

The Nexus is still a bit dodgy. Any chance you can upload it to Kip's http://neverwintervault.org/?

GCoyote.. It'll only ever be on the Nexus because I have always hated the voting part of the vault and I'm very happy with the like it or not or just don't bother if you don't want to of endorsements that come without the categorization nonsense. Sorry but you'll just have to keep on trying, I split it into 4 bits so the downloads aren't too massive.

Lance Botelle.. Thank you.

there are some links associated with the tool that have settings you can import - just click the tool and the target link sounds something like - "get new texture for this website"

im pretty sure the linked tool is site-exclusive so other sites do not get messed with :)

my chrome browser seems to like forgetting my password - but i download from the nexus all the time without being signed in - excepting for the CC that has an adult filter on it - then the nexus requires a sign in - Tsongo's module is not filtered.
