The end...

...because I wanted to go with destroy and "accidentally" jumped straight into the beam...because I thought that was how you were able to make your choice...and I got the synthesis ended instead.

The exact same thing happened on my first playthrough as well.  I was so confused and shocked at the whole catalyst bull**** I had no idea what the hell was going on.  So I just ran forward and got synthesis even though I wanted to destroy the reapers.  My mind was boggled.

I ended up with Control by accident. Wasn't sure what had just happened and I didn't pay attention to it again until the EC DLC. For the question I'd go with the memorial wall scene in the EC though.

None. Garrus at the end got me pretty good, though. Lump in my throat. And I don't even like him all that much.

Not really crying, I reserve that to the loss of a relative or someone close to me, not to a videogame. But if I were to list the saddest moments, by chronological order, these ones come to mind:

- The Virmire sacrifice. Ashley Williams and Kaidan Alenko are my favorite characters in ME1.

- The whole prologue in ME 2. The tragic loss of the Normandy SR-1 and some of the crew that valiantly fought against Sovereign and the geth... seeing Shepard asfixiate in the vacuum and silence of space... only to awake in a creepy facility, and then be forced to work with cerberus and TIM, with no real saying in the matter.

- The sefless sacrifices by Mordin, Thane and Legion.

- Admiral Anderson's goodbye scene. "You did good, son. You did good. I'm proud of you" with some beautiful music synched to his last words.

When Mordin was humming Scientist Salarian, and was cut off by the explosion. I teared up, but didn't actually start crying.

There were a lot of very touching moments in the game. But one I particularly liked was during the extended cut, where I said goodbye to Liara. Her response "I am yours" sent shivers all over my body. (Just to clarify, i'm talking about the scene where you're running straight towards Harbinger, and your team takes a glancing blow, it was the last goodbye :crying:)

When Grunt charged into the rachni at the end of the rachni mission in ME3. I shed some tears, but only in my first playthrough, since I thought maybe he had died. I already knew from before it was possible to keep Grunt alive, and I was pretty sure I had done it right, but not completely sure. It was so beautfiull. When he came back, victorious after all! My Grunt!

Mordin; while I liked his character, his death didn't make me shed any tears. It felt like he was fulfilling his purpose in life. It just felt right. If you kill him it is a bit worse, but I still didn't feel anything.

Legion; In my second playthrough I played renegade, and so I got some dialogue I didn't get the first. I don't remember what it was, but I remember this was the only time I was even slightly touched by his fate.

Anderson: While I don't cry, this one is sad, since Anderson has been there since the very beginning.

Thane: Never cared much about him. Okay as an character. Has some interesting things to tell, sometimes. His death was ridiculous though, and I loathe all the content that relates to his death. For me, who never felt anything for Thane, that is forced emotion at it's worst.

Mordin dying for the cure. Humming his song before he dies.
Legion dying for the Geth

The end of the party during the Citadel DLC. I wasn't ready to let these characters go, even the ones I hated. LOL!

This.

Other than that, pretty much everything that was already mentioned by the ones who came before me.
With honorable mentions going to:
Saying goodbye to Garrus (Shepard and Vakarian storming heaven)
Legion's death
Anderson's death
Javik's exiting scene is also strangely emotional (EC, Normandy picking up the team)

Giving Ereba Charr's message in ME3. That has me tearing up ever single time.

The ending.

Because with all the info on the disc and all the leaked stuff later it's clear that an epic (or at least fitting) ending was 4-6 months away and was sacrificed for EA's quarterly report.

What made me cry? Tears of joy from killing the Geth in the Tikkun system.

Serious answer, Mordin's death scene made me very emotional, though I wasn't really "crying".

Cry? No, I didn't do that for anything in video games, Only 2 books have made me cry, once when I was eight, another 5 months ago.

But Legion's and Mordin's death scenes make my top 25 most soul crushing death scenes so far.

The small amount of electrolytes lost to tears is worth more than just about any ME scene.

It really does, that mission is the only reason why I let Legion survive up until the Collector base.

When Suit Rat, Tali Vas Needaparachute took a swan dive off the cliff I cried.

Epic tears of joy, for my people had finally ascended to their true destiny and retook our intended planet- Rannoch, or has it's called now- Dyson Sphere Facility 1.0

When the Suit Rat Tali and the rest of her species became eradicated it was the greatest event of this platforms existence.

The moments may have been sad on some level, however the dialogue just had me facepalming.

Too many to mention.  Just watch smud's analysis - especially of the evac scene.

Honestly, the only one that got me on the verge of tears was watching Grunt hold off the Ravagers while my team and I went for the exit.
Here he was: a commander of his own elite unit of Krogan whom I had just ordered to death to save the Rachni Queen for a second time. :?

Still, he offered to give his life so we could make it out alive. He fought bravely and ferociously, refusing to stay down or be overwhelmed by the strength of their numbers and all their dealdy attributes. :crying:

Then, he walked out of the cave, covered in blood. :o

I honestly lept in celebration after that. B)

No disrespect to Mordin or Legion or Thane, but that one moment alone was so heartwrenching at the time that I almost cried.

I don't cry when playing video games. However.......right before I started my first ME3 playthrough, I had just completed Arrival for the first time as well. afterwards in the Docks, when I saw all those wounded batarians just lying there so pitifully, I genuinely felt BAAAAAAD.

the encounter with Ghorek made me feel even worse, took me right back on that asteroid. that's the only reason I didn't put a bullet in Balak's head afterwards.

and right after the Shroud dispersed the genophage cure, with "Vigil" playing in the background while Wrex talked about Mordin, I felt "something".

Image IPB

unfortunately I experienced the pre-EC ending at the time, and that one made me feel numb.

In a bad way, Shep having only choice between complete obliteration or turning traitor & agreeing to one of the reaper general's options

In a good way.

Legion's sacrifice on Rannoch
Mordin's sacrifice on Tuchanka
Kaidan/Ashley sacrifice in ME1
ME2 suicide mission
