I'm assuming that any delay would be for the sake of the game's quality, not because of business and marketing. I would hope that the relevant departments would be able to market the game well regardless of when it's released.
Anyway, I understand people's frustration, but just think of how poorly things can go when games are released ahead of time. Look at the shambolic endgame of KotOR II, a game that could have been better than the KotOR if it hadn't been so unfinished. Once a game is finished properly, to a good standard, you've got it forever. The same is true of a game that's released at poor standard. Sure, a healthy modding community can repair a lot, but it's going to take them far longer to do so than it would have taken the original dev team if they'd just been given more time.
Not only am I okay with a potential delay for DA:I, I am okay with
any extra delays as long as they help it to be a better game. It's good to hear that the delay isn't actually on the cards at present, because I'd certainly like to get the game next year. But if it comes to that, it's better than releasing it unfinished.
