I know, most of you are playing via PC or PS3.. But I suppose the majority was and still is on XBL, due to the initial exclusivity...
In any case, I have just realized that the X1 launch is 3 weeks away, and even if I will wait at least a couple of months, as of today there is no retro compatibility with the games... ME3 included...
yesterday a Microsoft rep wrote me a message via twitter, about a future retro compatibility via cloud... But was not more specific in terms of time to have this feature, and how does it works..
It means that all the people moving to X1 won't play to ME3 ( at least till the retro compatibility via cloud....).
what about you? Which are your opinions and intentions?

(Ok, I'm not native English, so I apologize in advance for my spelling and grammar mistakes)

It's survived Halo and Gta so far so who knows?

I won't be moving to XBone for a while until I see what kind of things it offers.

Don't forget the PS4.

Nah. I think a lot of people won't be getting the new consoles for a bit. I never pick up consoles at launch; there are always weird little design flaws that aren't addressed for a while.

Backwards compatibility is important for me so I am switching to PC Gaming since there are always issues with next gen consoles.

On topic it really depends on how many early adopters there are, whether there is an alternative to ME3 multiplayer on the next gen consoles and whether ME3 can continue to hold gamer's attention even though newer games have been released. I would expect XB360 player base to decrease around christmas rather than on launch tbh

I ain't gonna have the bread for it right away, so I gotta wait it out.

As for killing ME3 multiplayer, no; I think that will run its own course regardless of what the new consoles do.

No X1 for me until reverse compatible. I have a rediculous number of games. 1/2 haven't been completed. 1/4 haven't been started. ME3 has been completed 5x though. On 6 playthrough now.

I am not going to buy an Xbox One right away. Seems like you would be crazy to early adopt either the PS4 or the X1 given the history both consoles had early on. Also, I haven't seen any games yet that would compel me to purchase either one. And I am curious to see which one is winning this gen console war before I buy in.

It will most likely drain the community of many players but the thing about ME3 now is that there are a lot of people that may not play this game consistently but will still play 1-3 games a week in between their new games.

The new console releases wont kill ME3 but it will have an impact mostly due to the new games. I dont think the multiplayer will die anytime soon though. The player base always falls at times but there are still many people who play this game if even casually.

People don't play ME3 for ME3... They play bc of social time with friends. Therefore, it will keep limping on in all its glitchy, broken glory... Not because it's a quality MP, but because of the relationships forged by RPGers with each other, over what is/was many of their first MP game.

Also... A lot of the people still playing ME3 MP are too cheap/poor to buy new games.. or only want to play co-OP games (bc they suck at/dislike PvP) and the co-OP selection is pretty slim.

It's gonna take a long time before enough people migrate to Xbone to make a difference. Even EA has said it will keep making games for 360 until... 2017 I think they said?

Nice generalisation there.

Stereotypes are based on reality... And they are rarely, if ever.. 100% accurate. I'm fine with 70-80% accurate.

Absolutely. Kill the bird and be sure to pluck its feathers. It's good juju.

Even if it were accurate, why are you so heavily invested in what others choose to play, and their reasons for doing so?

The simple reality is that TIME will kill ME3 mp. The community and player interest is bound to dwindle as new games and consoles pull people away. Sooner or later, the ME3 servers will get shut down because its no longer cost effective supporting such a small community.

No, I don't think XB1 will kill off the ME3 MP anytime soon. The players may take a break from it for a while but the majority of people always seem to come back to ME3 MP. I know I did. To some extent Mega is right, yes the game is glitchy yes it doesn't observe it's own rules and yes it can be rather frustrating at times to play, but ultimately it's fun to play when it doesn't troll the hell out of you and it's even better to play with people that are part of a tight knit community like we are. So like I said it should be around for a good long while.

I might be able to pick up a X1 in a month but I will not be trading in my 360 I shall be keeping that so I can keep playing what I like.So I don't think ME3 is doomed just yet,but that day will come just like it did for Halo2.

OP asked a question... I gave my opinion as to why the new xbox won't kill this game entirely.

Fair enough. I may have realised that if every single one of your posts didn't contain the same material.

I wont buy the Xbox One immediately.
I will wait until the price goes down, so I will continue playing ME3MP.
